this song has always had a special place in my heart
back in 69 my mom was working at cbs and we drove by the aquarius theater every day
i wanted to see hair badly, but was only 9
but i'll never forget this song and just hearing it sends me back to those times

always sort of tied to this for me
i still watch this every now and then
pretty incredible work if you young guys haven't seen it

and this song could be the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in my life
yvonne elliman as mary the prostitute professing her deepest feelings for jesus christ
so powerful on so many levels
one of those moments in time and it totally changed my perceptions of women and life
i'm sure it changed other guys here as well
still impossible for me to watch it without getting emotional

We were a fund raiser a few years back and wanted to spend a little money. Wife bid on tix to a musical and won.

Little did I know it was Mama Mia, based on the music of Abba.

That music rattled around in my head for weeks. When she says "you never do anything I want to do" I point to that. Should be good for about 10 yrs of time served I say.

Funny how certain songs remind you of different periods and events in your life...just being crazy and having fun, being happy...falling in love and making it, being stoned and a stoner etc...
As time goes by, some songs you liked well enough, but didn't change you, once heard again, take on a different importance and become almost personal anthems...
truly hath charms to soothe the savage breast...

First time I partook of illicit weed (at the time) was the first time I heard Zep's 4th album (the one with no name).

A stoned/music memory which quickly comes to mind is this......

When Fleetwood Mac was a rock band.

My gf son, who lives in Santa Barbara, last texted "it's arrived at our doorstep".
Fucked up, man. Evacuate to LA, then wait, then check back to see what's left.
What a thing to fear...will your home and possessions be consumed by fire.
Good luck to all facing this juggernaut.

    same here
seemed like they tried to stretch it out
2½ hrs... would have been a lot better had they trimmed it down to say 2 hrs and gotten rid of a lot of the senseless shit
    dragged on too long

They pretty much made a lot of decisions that made other plot points useless.

Don't mind longer films, but at the very least give something of substance.

Star Wars could have been shorter no doubt but I did like the fact that an actual Asian character has been included in the movie. The little bits of comedy was a nice refreshing part of it too. I think the fact that it was a 1st time writer and director had an effect on the plot, he wrote 2 more so maybe he'll take the critique and improve it. All in all I thought it was a pretty good 1st effort.
