My takeaways from game #1 : • They look like they could be a fun team to watch this season • Julio still the tough guy competitor he always is • 8 Ks between Max and Mookie alone is just nuts...bad nuts • The overall time of the game is so much better, and people who are 100 years old like me may actually be able to see a complete night game from LA without falling out • Probably unnoticed, which is as they say, a good thing, was the umpire calling the game. It was well done. I only remember two or three pitches outside the box called a strike, and they were close, and one definite strike a ball...not bad at all compared to the garbage level of the last few seasons. • The bottom half of the lineup contributed well offensively, as I think everybody thought O would only come from the top. Not with Betts and Muncy whiffing machines.
Yeah, you're right. I totally forgot about D. Vargas does look pretty polished out there for a kid. Outman, although not sorely tested, looks pretty solid, too. Odd how Rojas made that first error...all glove, no hit. Ha. Overall, I like the way the team looks...against the Dbacks anyway. But they're not so terrible, I think. The only guy I don't like is that Afro- Asian English guy, who says nil. Roberts, I think his name is. Bloody twit wanker...
outman v bellinger opening day night… bellinger: 0-3, k, bb, 4 lob outman: 2-3, hr, 2 rbi, 3 r, k, 1 lob
i'm happy for Outman but really am rooting for Cody to turn it around what a joy those first few years were
I guess silence is golden tonight, but I'll write it...these fucking guys can't get this kid a fucking run ? What a game he's pitching. May the Force...
So I was going to say that Mookie and Max, each with a .250 OPS, don't concern me because I have faith in both. While I was typing that, Mookie's OPS jumped to .905, haha. But that wasn't my real point. What I really wanted to say is that JD's OPS of .286 DOES concern me. I know the number itself doesn't mean anything in less than two games - Mookie just proved that point with an exclamation. But my gut tells me he's going to show a lot of decline this year. Hope I'm wrong.
Dave put in a lefty and the Dbags countered with 3 straight pinch hitters. actually fucking annoying.
Can't lay off sliders a foot off the plate. Lucky he a got of a hanger for his HR. Credit to him he took advantage of it. Nice to see Muncy rebound. Last AB aside, he made solid contact every time up. Seven scoreless from Big Red. He's back.
