ned retracted his statement? i didn't hear that. besides all he said was matt wants to stay but if he is traded prefers a winner. not sure what the big deal is.
Stewart said all the right things. He and Kemp both don't want to see him traded(why would they even want him to go?), but if they do trade him, he hopes to go to a contender. He is doing his job right, he is trying to scare away teams like the Mariners who may not contend right away and making it more likely that Kemp stays in LA or that the team has to work a deal out with a more respectable club.
Any time an agent starts talking, to me, its out of line... why is he saying "I dont know if they are shopping him" when your GM has said that he aint shopping anyone... the way I see it is this... every time a stupid writer wants something, they go to him and he talks, rather than "we have no comments. Matt's a Dodger and he hopes to stay that way"... THAT'S ALL...
Since Steve Howe died. Stewart doesn't have anyone to cover the drug use in the bullpen so he has a lot of time to stick his foot in his mouth.
