ha that's funny. both. We don't even need both. I'd go hard after Syndergaard and that would leave us with Kershaw, Syndergaard, Buehler, Urias, and Wood with Hill getting dumped, Maeda getting traded (I'd offer him in Syndergaard deal TBH), and Ryu departing via FA

There seems to be a virus on here that every truly great player that exists on any other team will be traded to the Dodgers. Countless lineups are made with those dreamy players and comments on how great we will be when we get them. I guess maybe it's a feel-good (?)habit, and I don't want to play the role of the baseball Grinch, but we have to deal with who we've got available in our system.
You know, how do we win with what we've got ?
And even more puzzling ( to me, anyway), is the fact that the opposite usually happens, and we don't land any of them, most of the time.
Always daydreaming about the superhero players...as if other teams don't know what they've got? Machado and Harper and Thor and deGrom for our "depth"?
    C' mon...
Or deals are made for seemingly mediocre talent and prospects, and we weren't in the vicinity.
    Like last week.

Why put it as such when it’s obviously confined to one person?

The immediate answer would be diplomacy, but I really don't agree with your statement pertaining to confinement.
It doesn't matter, actually. People see it all different ways in the end. Ultimately, the only constant, as I see it, is we don't win it with what we have...or what we wish we had.

Yeah, its a passtime. I like to do it. It is fun for me. It hits a particular receptor in my brain that feels good everytime I post a lineup. I do it all the time, have been doing it since Hector was a pup.
Character creation and building is my favorite part of role playing games and I have always seen sports teams as a role playing game where you have to find a good mix of your 3 front line fighters and your 3 back line role players/auxiliary when forming an adventuring party.
