I really think people refuse to understand...myself included... that Puig is a valuable player for his defense and (when he is focused), and his raw ability at the plate...but we refuse to accept that he will never be who we want him to be. He can't lead off, hit second, or even in the middle of the order and be relied upon. Great to have on the team but only if there are true stars to take the actual workload.
bullpens are so stupid cause this offseason I thought it would have been great to trade for Ken Giles, an elite bullpen arm, and it turns out Giles has been worse then Hatcher. What the fuck, even my trade fantasies are bad
I like him leading off more then hitting 5th, but hard to move Utley out of there (what fucking year is this?) only cause I like Puig has a table setter way more then Puig as a RBI guy. But theres little to defend putting Puig higher in the order. Have to put Puig at 6th at the moment with Grandal hitting 5th

Best set up dudes for the Dodgers might be Julio Urias and Frankie Montas and those dudes won't be trusted oil like September when it might be too late. Woo! Until then, what the fuck does Dave do? Keep throwing Hatcher/Baez out there? Joe fucking Blanton might be the best current option just to change it up
And yes, I'm complaining about the bullpen in a game where the Dodgers only scored 1 run but the offense is what it is, theres little ways its realistically gonna improve via the farm system or outside. Would take something crazy for any position to have a change, the bullpen is the more realistic change
Don't think that's what he meant. Ethier kicks ass. But he should be an awesome addition to an already good lineup. Not the savior.
I suppose but it seemed he was implying we're dying for a mediocre hitter to come back to help us... when Ethier is healthy he's a top 3 bat vs RHP in the lineup
Nah, I don't get that impression. I can't wait until Dre gets back to smash RHP. An actual counterpart alongside our lefty mashers in a real platoon. Carl starts against RHP because he's the default left handed hitter. Ethier will start against RHP because he mashes them. I look forward to it.
Baseball is ridiculous though Wouldn't be surprised to see these guys scoring at will in May and fall into another slump in June.
That's what I meant. I just don't see him changing things much with what surrounds him in the lineup. He's a complimentary piece.
