    My thinking as well. Cody looked super uncomfortable and I bet they were banking on him potentially spiking another breaking pitch.

    He actually got a really good jump on it too, just wasn't fast enough and yeah, Claudio's throw was way more accurate than you'd think. Legitimately a good idea

    That was basically the perfect throw for that situation. Lots of times the pitcher arm sides that thing and the catcher has to jump across the plate to get him. There was little to no margin for error there.

    Any chance we can get Roberts to give us two innings of Maeda, and no one else, to wrap this up?

    Edit: After Grandal's HR, save Maeda for the 9th.

    One thing I have noticed about Wood is that when a guy takes a good hack at one of his pitches and fouls it off hard early in the count. You can bet that the next pitch is going to be a dirt curveball nowhere close to the strike zone. Then he spends the rest of the AB nibbling(did the same thing to Andrus). You can tell that shit gets to his head a bit.

    I had no idea that Gearrin was 32, totally thought he was in his early 20's. Nice pickup by the Rangers to snag him in the Austin Jackson deal.

    Alexander has been incredibly disappointing this season and then he has an inning like that. It reminds you that he still has the stuff of a lights out reliever in there. I just hope we can get some consistency out of him going forward.
