    said that's the cause of his pitching problems...i hope thats all but seriously its just baseball and you have a family
    he feels its making him lethargic and slow

    Wow, seriously?!? Not sure the extent of his condition, but if it were me, I'd take my earnings up to this point and call it a career. Like you said, family (and living) are far more important than baseball.

    hard to say retire since its obvious he feels he has something to prove
    obviously a proud man and that WS has to stick him where it hurts
    that was his and his teams moment and he couldn't close the deal
    hard to ask a man to walk away when he and all of us could taste it
    i just don't want to see him lose his life on the mound and i hope he's not risking that

    I basically agree with this

    It's a recurring heart condition that can cause sudden death. His occupation happens to be arguably the highest stress position in baseball for the first or 2nd most followed organization in baseball. It sounds like a recipe for disaster. Obviously his call, but the game takes a firm back seat when it comes to things like this.

    The part that troubles me is that he’s had this condition before, and presumably, he was on similar medication.

    The fact he’s pointing to the meds as a possible cause of his pitching problem seems to be grasping at straws to find some solution, although it maybe 100% true. And that’s the problem, we don’t know if this is a safe decision or one being made in desperation.

    It may well be his heart cannot take the stress anymore after already having had surgery for this before and another scheduled for the off-season.

    Just stay on the meds, and let the Dodger FO and Roberts figure out some patchwork save situation.

    Was just saying that LAD wouldn't be able to trade a declining Jansen with all that money tied around his neck, so retirement sounds good for both his health and the team's payroll. Clear him off the books after the season to make for damn certain that Manny gets paid...

    I'd say let him start the 7th. Didn't really do anything that inning to worry me too much. Andrus was just up there trying to work a walk and not really taking good hacks.
