Yes, it's managing. By mere definition, no reasonable person can disagree with you. Even me.
But what it definitely is not, by no stretch of the imagination, imo anyway, is successful managing. The amount of times you do it successfully more than the other guy gets you the brass ring...plainly and simply.
It Is THE difference between winners and losers, and the Dodgers special category, bridesmaids.
You can take any move any manager makes and spin the logic and have it sound perfectly valid like is being done on here over and over again,.mostly with the
" it was the right move but didn't work out"...,ad infinitum. Maybe your tack is right too, and others are wrong. Could very well be.
But losing, like we have been, and have perpetually done, is common result. And in the end, that's all that matters.
You can adore Dave and think he's a fine baseball mind. But whatever he is, truly, I don't think we get there with him.
And I truly hope, as a Dodger fan for over 60 years, I am totally wrong.

 

I like Anderson for several reasons. Not the least being he's damn good and a tough Paddy mentally. I like that. Don't know if he's the ultimate answer, but I sure favor him over " Petey". Dave goes too long with the wrong one, not long enough with the other.
Personally, I would have kept Ferguson in for at least one out then used Alexander the Late. Chargois would not have entered my mind at all.
