    I'm with you @LAdiablo

The Lakers are fun to follow when they're good, the Kings playoff games are as entertaining as sports gets, it's cool for Rams and Raider fans to think about getting their old teams back, the Galaxy do stuff, etc etc. And it's all good I guess.

But the Dodgers are a romance. There is nothing like baseball and the Dodgers. I'd rather watch all the other LA teams lose every game for eternity than never witnessing the Dodgers win the world series.

I care for the Dodgers. The other teams bleh.

Dodgers are about 76 gas, farmer john hot dogs, organ music, hexagon scoreboards, wavy roofs, palm trees and Vin Scully. Nothing compares.

The NL is stronger..I think that's more on the mark than last year's team having only 1 flaw. I mean even through CK's struggles, he still came back and pitched a solid Game 4. All told, other than Game 1 vs. the Cards the Dodgers didn't do diddly offensively. They scored 3, 1, and 2 runs in that order. That's not gettin it done. Which leads me to another flaw of theirs that went unmentioned..

Nobody was a bigger fan of Dee than myself. The Dee Appreciation Thread after he was traded was started by yours truly..a fan of the player and the guy. However, his performance in the 2nd half of last season was bad...Dee was basically having Joc-like struggles ( well, not quite that bad Lol) without as many strikeouts, without as many walks, and without as much defensive impact. Just the truth. He rebounded in a big way this year for Miami, but too late for us.

Point being, pissed off as we are that Utley didn't continue to swing the bat well after he came off the DL...Dee really wasn't any better than Utley at this point in the season last year and our leadoff spot was a big flaw heading into the 2014 post back then as well. We had zero spark. The .300 OBP wasn't doin it.

Kike/Crawford has got to be our lead off choices for this team going forward into October. Joc isn't an option imo. Puig is out and there is no other "obvious" choice.

There is much of your post which applies to only those "being right" is pretty much the sole purpose of being here at all. Sometimes this site is more about the posters than it is baseball.
Some of it has already been set up by responses, to minimize what some feel is the reason for collapse again- if we should. What some see on the field doesn't matter...the future is the thing...of course, ignoring that last year, 2013 , and other years were all the "future" for the ones that came before.
So this time is different, because there are different posters...touting the different people (FO) running the team...getting the different players...moving others on...unheard of salary moves...
But, as it always does, it looks so very much the same as it has for season after season in the end...no matter what has changed--the result is unflinchingly constant. That's where pessimism comes from; right there.
Proper to finish with "maybe this time it will be different". W all hope.
But who really believes it, I wonder?

I think we all like Ruggi, but we all probably prefer Kike leading off over him as well.

There's a stigma attached to this next fella ( for good reason), but I present to you Rollins vs. lefties this year - .303/.345/.431

If there's one time to put Rollins at the top of the lineup it's to face a lefty. But I too would go with Crawford..more likely to take 2B and get in scoring position. If the goal is to get some consistency within these lineups it's best to just run with Crawford.

Didn't they try that in the parking lot a few years ago?
Then they got better..and won and won. And won.
    Gotta be something different...
All I know is, if we keep it up like the last few nights , then we don't deserve it...no way.
And if the FO stays with Indiana Boy, after all this shit again, then we won't get it in the future either.

So about the cat sacrifice... when should I bring over a tabby? For the Dodgers I don't mind... its worth it.

I hear cat lady Irish has a few to spare... we can tree them with golf carts... maybe staple vaGiant logos to them... what color paint balls are we using this time??

I could live with a Ruggiano/Kike 1-2 tonight and then Kike at the top for the rest of the season.
