^chicks dig the long ball Kendrick hit .320/.366/.513 in the cleanup spot for a 98 win Halo club last year managed by you know who, so get off DBB's nuts on this one. even though he's not gonna hit 40HRs, he's been a fine producer there. Grandal..no. SVS..maybe. Uribe..see a doctor, bro. Kendrick went into last night's game hitting .380 in ST..relax. what kind of madness brings about a proposal in which Juan Uribe lands in the cleanup spot? eerily reminiscent to a back and forth i had not too long ago..something's in the water here at DSP.
Enrique Hernandez has not made the team as well. Love the guy and think he's gonna be good, and (although I'm sure some are gonna be mad) he'll be up sooner rather then later. Guy is still young and has options, and its a hell of a long season. Get him some everyday AB's and call him up with the first inevitable injury
Yup, tough for Enrique when he's facing off against SVS who was very good last year, Ethier who can't be moved, Turner who was a bench lock, and Guerrero who pretty much had to be DFA'd or on MLB roster like Ethier. But like I said, we probably see Enrique at first injury to anyone, and good to get him everyday AB's. Hope he can hit
and so now we go into the season without a decent defensive backup for Rollins. of course Turner can play there, but he's not very good at SS.
The roster: Starting pitchers -- Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Brandon McCarthy,Brett Anderson. Relief pitchers -- Hatcher, J.P. Howell, Joel Peralta, Rodriguez, Garcia, Juan Nicasio, Baez. Infielders -- Adrian Gonzalez, Howie Kendrick, Jimmy Rollins, Juan Uribe,Justin Turner, Alex Guerrero, Barney. Outfielders -- Yasiel Puig, Pederson, Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier, Scott Van Slyke. Catchers -- Yasmani Grandal, A.J. Ellis.
Really surprised how young they went with the bullpen considering I woulda thought they woulda sent down at least one of Yimi or Baez for roster flexibility reasons to keep one of the non-roster invites. They must have not liked what they saw though. The downside to this is that maybe it kills depth for the bullpen (unless some of those vets can be stashed in the minors), but I guess it's pretty cool and different to have the best guys in the bullpen instead of just whoever is being paid
yeah i like the six bench guys cause 8 relievers seems like overkill. I wanna say they have Barney over Enrique to get Enrique some more AB's in the minors. Just spitballing. Baez surprises me too. Wish I could hear what the Dodgers, or even other, scouts think of him. Dude has a great fastball but... that's it. When he's good you're like "oh fuck yeah no way anyone can hit his fastball, he's blowing it by them" and then Albert Pujols hits it 400 feet and you say "oh for fucks sake throw an offspeed pitch"
Once the fifth starter comes i would expect Barney to the minors, and once Ethier/Guerrero gets dealt it would be then time for Kike. Wouldn't put it past them to deal Howell because of Liberatore/Paco.
