I am more worried about an oblique rather than his hammy which held up very well during his rehab stint if he hadn't done the assignment then I'd be on board about stopping him.
only way for the don't play guys to have been right would have been for him to get hurt so therefore i am glad to be wrong.
a bit out of context, no? every player hasn't been out of the lineup for over a month and played only 11 innings for their team in nearly two months what type of message does this send to his teammates who have been struggling without him? "Hey guys, I know you miss me, but you can check me out in the Derby on TV!" maybe I'm in the minority on this one, but IMO his sole focus should be getting 100% healthy asap to help his team -- not appear in some bullshit made for TV event
I'm frankly impressed a player wants to do a little extra. Too often I find myself calling MLB players pussies for sitting down every time something aches. If 10, 20 or 50 swings is going to break his season, he wouldn't have made it through September anyway.
