Shams CharaniaVerified account@ShamsCharania Updated story on @TheVertical on Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers shifting workout and meeting date to June 7.
Just to be clear it was only because Magic had a conflict just in case anyone thought dad had something to do with the re-scheduling.
I heard LAL was trying to match Lonzo and Josh Jackson up on the 9th and Lavar caught wind of it.. Just kiddin
@ 00:46 seconds in the vid, look @ the shirt Lavar has on Shit, it's in the still before you even click on the vid Smh
The title of the article is kind of an oxymoron, (not the writers fault) but best "prospect" entails being an unknown. Point is nobody knows but I've seen enough of Lonzo to want the Lakers to draft him.
Steve Kyler: With reports surfacing that the LA Lakers and former UCLA guard Lonzo Ball have finalized the details of a workout and face to face meeting in LA next week, there is a growing sense that unless Lonzo absolutely blows the doors off, he may not be the Lakers’ guy. The Lakers are weeks away from needing to make their final decision, but there are many that believe the Lakers could go after Kansas forward Josh Jackson or Kentucky guard De’Aaron Fox (who made my Mock at 2 this week) with the second overall pick. It’s become so real that Ball’s camp, which started the process saying he’d only meet with the Lakers, have expressed a willingness to meet with the Philadelphia 76ers and possibly the Sacramento Kings depending on how things go with the Lakers. Neither are expected to get a workout out of Ball, but both may get a chance for a face to face meeting. Get that Jackson.
I read the reviews that Josh Jackson is a better overall pick despite not having a NBA caliber wingspan How is it the De'Aaron Fox gets ranked so much lower (#4-#6) than Ball even after shutting him down with authority? What am I missing? Ball is 2-3" taller but wingspans are within 1/2". Both are 19 year old freshmen. Ball has better rebound and assist #'s but UK perhaps didn't need Fox on the boards as much. Head to head Fox owned Ball... doesn't that matter?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Lots of variables, and it's not a game of one-on-one. T.J. McConnel owned D'Angelo Russel in an NCAA tournament game. Which would you rather have?
dunno seems like everyone has jumped off of the Russell bandwagon already Fox scores more but has fewer assists shorter but with the same wingspan seems closer than everyone is saying while riding the Ball bandwagon
I don't get the D'Lo hate. Hes probably never going to be a superstar, but he can play. I think he might be really good opposite a playmaker like Ball. Probably wouldn't fit with Fox though.
DLo's counterpart @ both guard spots is almost averaging a 20+PER VS his defense Lonzo has more upside defensively, but he'll more than likely come into the league and struggle/have a ways to go before he becomes a solid defender Both Jackson and Fox are NBA ready defensively Being that Jackson's 6'8" and very athletic, majority of the scouts and draft analysts I look to aren't all that concerned about his 6'10" wingspan because he'll be defending his share of SGs and PGs, where that length/athleticism combo plays, and then he's an excellent off-ball defender as well Anyway, Magic said it himself and put it out there for the public to see..DLo has to improve defensively
Point of emphasis for him though because he doesn't really have the physical/athletic tools to do so, which means he's going to have to work that much harder The upside is just not there
Per a source, #Lakers are not just "open-minded" to trading Jordan Clarkson, as has been reported, but are actively seeking out offers. — Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) June 1, 2017 At this point it seems like Clarkson, Russell and Randle are in play Yet to see any rumors involving Zubac, even though Magic did say Ingram is the only untouchable Still don't like getting rid of Randle, but I could still understand it if they do and it'd make at least some sense Russell and Clarkson..meh and meh, guards of their ilk fall off trees, can be replaced soon if not immediately
Not seeing a whole lot of value in trading the kids at the core of 'whatever' we have as a team moving forward. Build around what? Ingram and Zubic? Not much core there. Randle is streaky but impressive when he' tuned in. Clarkson makes a good 6th man off the bench but whatever Magic knows/sees counts for more
