Makes sense. Agreed. I was thinking about that scenario because there was a rumor a little while back that George´s reps didn´t want LeBron to join him with LAL, and so I was just like fuck George if that´s truly the case. I like that he´s the hometown kid, but I like that LeBron is better at basketball more than that hometown stuff. Further, realizing that realistically LeBron could be better than George over the next 4-5 years even though LeBron´s obviously much older and been going for longer. Fans I think started discussing LeBron as the best in the game around 2006-ish, right? So a 10 year run as arguably the best in the game that could very well turn into 15? Damn impressive
Not the player he was hyped to be coming out, but he´s solid..old school, but fairly efficient career 16 PER guy He´s ¨ considering ¨ signing with LAL..hometown kid, so maybe it happens? Hard to see how he fits, but yeah
So Pincus says sources are hearing that LeBron would love to team with Russ for LAL. Which sort of matches up with the rumor of George´s camp not wanting to team with LeBron for LAL. I guess if I were LeBron I´d feel the same since Russ has been far more successful than George has @ closing games out and just being clutch in general. George being 0 for his life on game winners isn´t really ideal, especially when LeBron absolutely needs others that can take over late. Plus, of course Russ has a vendetta against GSW, and so he and LeBron do have that in common as well. Said it before..I only like the idea of adding Russ if LAL has multiple ballhandlers to play along with him. Hate the idea of having Russ as the primary playmaker/decision maker. Russ´ game is optimized when he has a Harden type to run PG, moving him off the ball for a good of the amount of time. LeBron, Zo, and Ingram could move Westbrook off the ball a great deal, allowing for him to apply more energy on defense while limiting some of his decision making blunders as well. If Kuzma eventually proves to be the passer/playmaker they think he can be, add another option. George and Randle sharing an agent seems like it could still be factoring into some of these reports. Their reps likely wanting both of them with LAL next year, however, of course it´s been reported that LAL has no intention of re-signing Randle after the season, so perhaps it´ll be George getting left out? Zo is pretty much the ideal PG for Russ because Zo has the size to move over and defend shooting guards and the youth to chase shooting guards around screens, allowing for the smaller Russ to take on some of these point guards and focus more on his team/help defense. All that said, multiple execs still think Russ will eventually re-sign with OKC and take the 217M, so..
I think that's probably about right, but has anyone ever seen this much buzz around a projected 33 win team before? I love it.
Can´t recall..and it is awesome. A bunch of sad orgs are out there wondering how LAL could get the 4th or 5th most nationally televised games this year..especially after they all pretty much bitched to Stern about the Chris Paul trade to LAL, setting LAL back years
