Wrong way to look at it. MGT had to clear room for FA this year and next. Unfortunately Clarkson has to go because Jimmy boy and Kupcake dolled out that IDIOTIC contract to Deng. If Deng was not on the books then MGT could have kept both players and still be legit players in FA for the next 2 years. Now Thomas and Frye are off the books at the end of the year clearing up $66MM. That translates into one max FA at $35MM and one max FA at $30MM. Oh and MGT keeps Randle, AND MGT gets the Cavs 1st round draft pick this year, yes not very high, but still a 1st round pick when they would otherwise have none.

Looks like a cap dump move for sure. But losing Clarkson is a bummer. Guy can score.

Not sure what caused the Nance drop off but Randle and Kuzma softens the blow. Hart also looks like a keeper.

Great deal. I just made an epic post a few days ago about how the Cavs should trade us Thomas so they can get assets for their playoff push, dump a malcontent, and help us clear capspace.
While I would assume Thomas is brought in for his expiring contract you never know.
He does love LA and wanted to come here before. Might be a good change of pace PG to bring off the bench. He wants to get paid though, and that wont be here.
Just a year ago though people were seeing him as a potential pillar for championship teams going forward.
Is there still time to flip him for another pick?
Getting that late first rounder from the Cavs is nice, Rob and Magic can find another Hart/Kuz/Bryant.

Damn, the Cavs just got George Hill and much much more importantly Rodney Hood pretty much for free.

Cavs doing what I said they would do a few days ago. Massive influx of new talent to shore up their defense, chemistry and professionalism.

I just told you why Chriss is better than bum Nance
You can accept the facts or not
And on cue..bum Nance traded to Cleveland

Clarkson improved just enough this year to get traded
Still doesn't play defense consistently, easily replaced
Far easier to replace him in comparison to their ability to replace Julius

Isaiah is only staying if he agrees to take the room exception..believe that shit
They're not about to waste real cap space on a miniature guard that needs high usage to be effective while leaving themselves with a huge liability defensively
Brad Stevens slapped Isaiah on his ass on the way out..expect LAL to do the same

If they keep IT, it means the FO is giving up on Lebron because no way those two play together again.

Plus IT is a cancer. He’s bounced around all over the league for a reason.

Plus plus who knows how injured he really is.

Plus plus plus what about Lonzo?

LeBron will be staying in Cleveland.
His squad just got upgraded nicely with two legit guys to build around in Clarkson and Hood plus two good role players in Hill and Nance.
And they are not done. If they land Kemba why would LeBron leave?

The bold is a hard stretch
Isaiah is not a cancer..Isaiah is having a hard luck year in his free agent walk year, was dealt a huge blow with last year's hip injury. He's a good guy. His dad is a huge Lakers fan and the only reason his name is " Isaiah " to begin with is because his pops loved the Lakers so dearly that he bet his best friend that the Lakers would beat the Pistons in the Finals..and if LAL lost he'd have to name his son after the original Isiah.
Isaiah also lost his sister in a terrible auto accident last season, so yeah, it's been a tough go for him
LeBron knows how good Isaiah can be when he's right physically/medically
All that said, X and O wise, Isaiah does not fit what LAL wants to do and that's really it

Arrows and swords don't lie either, but they are useless against plate mail.
Stats out of context are a pretext for poor judgment of the textual analysis.

I like Nance but would not like to have to match his contract offers.
Hopefully he can fly in Cleveland next to the memory of his dad.

To finish his break with the Lakers he should wear one of his dads old Cavs jerseys at the dunk contest.

IT is already demanding to start or is requesting a buyout if not per Ramona Shelborn tweet.

Of course he is, he likely already knows the situation, that this is another pit stop for him
But at the same time, LAL is 9 games under .500
If you believe you're an all star caliber talent..and you're in your FA walk year..you don't accept coming off the bench for a team that's 9 games under .500
