Does anyone else see this as a troubling sign?

Lets look at the first two games in Washington, especially the second one. In that second game we had 2 pitchers left and one position player available when Hanley and Gonzo broke the game open in the 10th.

Had that not happened we would've been stuck with Withrow, who to his credit did well in that long relief role before, or league. Of course he was saving Jansen for a save opportunity should it arise.

Personally I love Donnie (total homo) he was my favorite player as a kid, but seriously do we need a double switch every single time we make a pitching change?

Also his reliance on the L/L, R/R pitching matchups could hurt us later. He will bring in Paco to pitch to one batter even though right handers are hitting just as badly against him as lefty's, albeit a much smaller sample size. He used 5 pitchers (not counting Kenley) after Greinke went out in the 6th!

I envision a game where we have a 2-3 run lead only to give it up by all of these double switches and misuse of the pen and the only players we would have left are league, fedex, etc...

The offense has bailed him out lately but as any baseball fan will tell you it won't always be that way.

Some may say the situation dictated those calls in a close game and for that I will agree, as long as its a situational one game type setting. The problem though is he uses the DS just about every game and is all about the pitching match ups.

    Anyway my rant.
