Easy, righty Puig out, righty Trayce in.
I consider Trayce honorary LAD homegrown talent being from Socal and all, that works well enough Lol
Puig about to be facing off with Kemp, Hanley and Uribe in the AL in a minute.

Excellent, his numbers got a good hike from that, up to an .850 OPS now
Fairly close to his mark in A ball

    4. Cody Bellinger, 1b, Dodgers
    [IMG]
    Team: Double-A Tulsa (Texas)
    Age: 20
    Why He’s Here: .348/.464/.739 (8-for-23), 4 R, 3 HR, 6 RBIs, 3 BB, 7 SO
The Scoop: Early in Bellinger’s career, scouts wondered whether he would have the power to play first base. He answered that question last year in the hitter-friendly high Class A California League, but he has shown he can launch balls just as far this year in the Texas League. One of the youngest players in Double-A, Bellinger has shown power to all fields with big loft in his swing and, at least early on, he has cut his strikeout rate to 22 percent after posting a 28 percent whiff rate last year. (BB)

    7. Willie Calhoun, 2b, Dodgers
    [IMG]
    Team: Double-A Tulsa (Texas)
    Age: 21
    Why He’s Here: .375/.464/.708 (9-for-24), 5 R, 2 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBIs, 4 BB, 3 SO
The Scoop: Sure, there are a few college hitters from the 2015 draft who are already in Double-A—Dansby Swanson, Alex Bregman and Andrew Benintendi. Then there’s Calhoun, a fourth-round pick out of Yavapai (Ariz.) JC, who has sped through the system. After a slow start, he has hit .281/.350/.517 in 24 games in May. Small and compact at 5-foot-8, 187 pounds, Calhoun’s bat speed, hand-eye coordination and ability to keep the barrel in the hitting zone for a long time make him a dangerous hitter. His bat will have to carry him because Calhoun still has plenty of work to do on defense. (BB)

This is BA's Hotsheet that came out today

Any news on the Lazarito/Jose Miguel Fernandez showcase that had so many LAD people in attendance?
They'll have to ink Lazarito before June 15th I believe if they do at all
No bonus rules for JMF of course, 28yo

No Urias, still went to OKC-Fresno last night.

Lee started, pitched pretty well for four innings, then went full Billinglsey in the fifth and sixth innings, giving four runs.

Didn't see SVS on the bench.

Barnes didn't do much (one hard hit out and an infield single). Micah Johnson looked OK at the plate (two singles) but looks really stiff fielding ground balls.

O'Koyea Dickson looked the best among the OKC hitters, with a double and a single. Journeyman Brandon Hicks hit a HR.

Best part of the game were the $2 tall Tecates (it was Tecate Thurs at the ballpark).

Might go to Rancho Cucamonga-Visalia tonight.

    Issue i see is leadoff.
Usually u get that from ss 2b or cf.
Seager is not a leadoff guy.
    Neither is calhoun.
    Joc is obviously not.
    Trayce maybe but not really.
Chase wont be around forever but we should run him out there till he cant run anymore.
The best option would be moving Seager to 3b and getting a leadoff ss.
    But good luck with that.
None of our guys in the minors are really good speedsters other than micah johnson. But hes another bad defender who will have a hard time staying in the middle of the if.

I thought Verdugo was the leadoff?

    He better be.
He isnt very powerful to be in the heart if the order.
His speed is decent enough but below average for both cf and leadoff.
His defense average for cf but good enough at a corner with that arm.
If he can hit decently enough and get on base i wont care if he only gets 15 steals and 15 homers a year.

They did not do anything about Verdugo this week, but here is last.

    8. Alex Verdugo, of, Dodgers
    [IMG]
    Team: Double-A Tulsa (Texas)
    Age: 20
    Why He’s Here: .450/.522/.900 (9-for-20), 6 R, 3 2B, 2 HR, 3 RBIs, 3 BB, 4 SO
The Scoop: We snuck Verdugo into the final position of this year’s Top 100 Prospects, and the center fielder’s production has trended upward in May after a .260 April. The youngest player in the Texas Leauge on Opening Day, Verdugo hit .450 with power this week and has hit .343/.397/.627 with nine extra-base hits in his last 17 games. The 2014 second-rounder out of high school made steady improvement in 2015, too, showing a tendency to make adjustments to higher levels of play. (ME)

I have not seen a thing other than Lazarito's stock has dropped considerably.

Yeah I saw that from Badler I believe it was, but said it was more about the over-hyping from the beginning.
Wonder if his agent thing is cleared up or is the guy still threatening people

So Badler had a chat today and I'm looking at it...
    Q) With Adrian Gonzalez signed through 2018, is Bellinger athletic enough to handle LF if his power stays present? Crawford and Ethier are finally off the books after next year.
    A) Bellinger is one of the most athletic first basemen you can find. He’s a legit solid-average runner who would have above-average range for a corner outfielder if you put him out there.

    Q) Hey Ben, what are your thoughts on Ariel Sandoval (LAD)? He's been putting together a good season for the Great Lakes squad
    A) I like the athleticism and the tools quite a bit. The speed, the raw power and arm strength are all 50-60 tools, but he’s going to have to learn the difference between balls and strikes. When the pitch is in the strike zone, his bat-to-ball skills are good, but he gets himself out by chasing too many pitches off the plate and getting too pull-conscious. He’ll tease you with his upside in flashes, but the hitting approach is going to take time to come around.

    Q) What's the latest on Lazarito?
    A) Lazaro Armenteros has had a couple of open showcase games with other Cuban players, including Jose Miguel Fernandez, the last couple of weeks at the Padres and Tigers academies out in San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Talent-wise, he’s still the same player as our previous reports. Athletic, strong, runs well for his size, unconventional swing but a good track record of hitting in Cuba and during international tournaments. He’s not the over-the-top superstar talent that other media reports have tried to turn him into, but he’s a very good prospect for his age.

    Q) When is Jose Miguel Fernandez going to sign? He's had 2 showcases. Any more scheduled/needed?
    A) It’s a good question, because Fernandez has been a free agent, had multiple open showcases since then and still hasn’t signed. And other than AJ Preller of the Padres and Alex Anthopolous of the Dodgers, there has been surprisingly little heat at these events from executives with the ability to authorize a big check. When Yoenis Cespedes, Jose Abreu, Yasmany Tomas and Hector Oliver had their showcases, there were a ton of execs flying in from the States—Ken Williams, Andrew Friedman, Josh Byrnes, etc.—but that hasn’t been the case with Fernandez. I like Fernandez quite a bit because I believe in the hitting ability and the plate discipline. And I know there are high-level scouts who are also high on him, but they’re with teams who either aren’t going to pay much for a Cuban player or don’t have an immediate need at second base at the MLB level, so they’re not going to play for Fernandez. Other teams have concerns about Fernandez’s defense, which I share, and he’s not a guy who’s going to wow you in a showcase either because he doesn’t have big power or speed or arm strength; his value is in his on-base skills, which isn’t the sexy/flashy attention-grabber at these workouts. As a general policy, I try to stay away from commenting on potential contract values for unsigned Cuban players, but given the circumstances, I’m curious to see where his market ends up.

I saw someone say that they were not impressed by him at all and that he was hearing the same thing from other scouts. Badler tries to bring it all in during his chat, but it sounds like Lazarito was a bit overhyped thanks to Moncada.

Moncada was a bit older tho, I mean we are still talking about 16yr old, right?

He was older, but still young for the Cubans that had defected to that point and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. I think Jesse Sanchez sometimes gets a little overzealous on what is coming out of Cuba and MLB runs with what he says a lot even though Badler is better regarded.

This cool, some recent scouting reports on Dodgers prospects. A couple of takeaways...
    - Surprised that he does not see Diaz as future CF, which I had seen a good bit.
    - Griggs got some decent love
    - Not happy that Sborz is not using his 3rd pitch in game action when they are trying to develop him as a starter.
