I really do believe that he starts in AAA IF the rotation starts the season healthy and nobody is traded as there will be too many guys they can't put anywhere else. Kershaw, Hill, Maeda, Kazmir, McCarthy and Wood, plus if ever right Ryu could all be considered for starting roles and placing them in the pen helps no one. Urias going to AAA to start will I believe slow down his arb clock and yes, save his innings as he wore down tremendously at the end of the season. It is the nature of the beast and if everyone feels they can get quality innings out of the other group, they would probably rather do that.

Wood fits pretty snug behind Maeda [no homo] as a #4 and if Kaz or BMc is the #5 they'll be fine.
Still think back to when CK went down..Kaz was in the midst of a month and a half/2 month run where he didn't lose a single game.

Trumbo does not do a lot of the things that this FO likes, so I have a feeling that they have not entertained the idea of bringing him in, much if at all. In the grand scheme of things, I would not mind seeing him in our lineup, but the OF defense is very worrisome. I've said it briefly recently, but I think they may not really do anything else that drastic with the lineup. They may choose to roll the dice and see if the rotation can get through camp healthy, someone somewhere else gets hurt, someone on our roster steps up and then they make a trade addressing the need from there. It sucks, but the Nats totally fucked the market.

Yeah, all told, we could be discussing what's not even an option for them..they may feel like Verdugo and Bellinger are close enough to just use Toles/Trayce/Ethier/Puig/SVS/Ruf/Kike as a bridge.
Said it recently, but again, they really don't even need a leadoff man if Ethier can do the job he was in line to have before his injury last year.
Would still need one against LHP, because of course Ethier sits, but they could just throw Puig up there or better yet Trayce ( if healthy and back 100%).
If Bellinger rakes in Spring Training w/the big boys for the 2nd year in a row, perhaps that'll see his timeline moved up to more of a late June/early July-ish debut ( after some tuning in AAA).
Where other teams are ramping up trade ideas at that point in the season, I could see the loudest trade deadline talk surrounding LAD possibly involving the promotion of what could be the #1 prospect in all of baseball.

Some more Kinsler noise bubbled up yesterday, but I don't think it was anything substantial.
    Seemed more like regurgitation.
I still feel like he's a better fit than Dozier.
At some point Ethier needs to call his boy Kinsler and get him to work w/LAD

Kinsler seems pretty farfetched at this point unless he backs off his extension requests. I am guessing he is going to want a lot more to make up for how cheap he is the next two years compared to his current performance. If he was asked to waive his no trade earlier, it usually means that the teams are far along in a deal, so I am curious to see what the club would give up for him. Also, there is talk now that the owner feels they can win now, so that always makes a trade less likely.

Sticklers for value, likewise, I'd like to see what they had gotten DET to agree to as well.
DET may be on more of an incremental plan in terms of shedding payroll..not an LAD-like incremental plan because their farm just doesn't allow for it, but still looking to move a guy or two.
What they do w/JD Martinez will be telling because his payday is coming shortly.
Kinsler is so cheap that it's really their best shot at moving something valuable enough to get multiple young pieces back ( what they really need), so I'd imagine LAD had agreed to move maybe a Toles + a Calhoun + an Abdullah or even Brock + probably pitching that's already at the ML level.
Reportedly not willing to move Brock to the Twins would shut DET/Brock down on it's face, but taking into consideration the kind of contract/money that's going to have to be earmarked for Dozier when he hits FA..best believe that value isn't lost on this FO.

Some wannabe sports reporter online is saying that the Dodgers and Twins are closing in on a deal for Dozier. Take this with a grain of salt as the guys twitter history is a mess of bad "breaking news" moments.

    Update: It's a farce

Otani and Tanaka working out together, media all over it, drawing a connect to NYY.
If ( when) NYY loses out on Kershaw in the winter of 2018, they'll probably run the numbers up big for Otani the following off-season.
Tanaka possibly building a little leverage for himself for when he opts out after this season.." Hey, I can get Otani to NY. " Lol

focusing on the season that really matters

Jansen to skip WBC, Kershaw and Maeda likely to follow suit
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 17 minutes ago

A trio of Los Angeles Dodgers once seemingly poised to participate in the 2017 World Baseball Classic no longer appears as certain. Kenley Jansen confirmed he will not pitch for Team Netherlands, while Clayton Kershaw and Kenta Maeda are also expected to skip the annual WBC tournament, Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman indicated.

Jansen had previously voiced a desire to represent Netherlands in the international showcase, in contrast to Kershaw and Maeda who have remained mum on the topic. Speaking at the Winter Meetings last December, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the club would support Maeda if he elected to pitch for Team Japan.

Previous reports indicated Kershaw was a likely option to represent the United States during the semifinals or final, which Dodger Stadium is hosting from March 20-22.

The possibility was established by the WBC implementing a new rule that allows for a pitcher pool to be formed for teams to add up to a pair of hurlers between rounds.

Kershaw is of course coming off a season in which he missed significant time due to a herniated disc in his back. Friedman cited health as a primary factor for player’s when considering whether or not to participate in the WBC.

“It depends so much on the pitcher and what’s going on from a health and training standpoint,” Friedman said during last week’s press conference at Dodger Stadium.

“I’m a big advocate of the WBC, I think it’s a really competitive environment that’s good for a lot of players. But so much of it comes down to each individual and what’s going on at that time.”

To this point the Dodgers are only slated to be represented in the WBC by Adrian Gonzalez (Mexico). It’s possible he’s joined by Julio Urias and/or Alex Verdugo. Yasiel Puig was hopeful to play for Mexico, though did not submit necessary paperwork.

So everyone is saying that a Bautista deal is going through some minor changes, but both parties are amicable. As always take his words for what they're worth, but Bowden tonight said that he is hearing that there could be some issues rising up. The deal has gone from 2 years to 1 and it is not known which of the parties, but it sounds like one of them is not particularly fond of this. Not saying that this opens the door for anything for the Dodgers, but could be a little drama unfolding.

Perfect word regurgitation because all I see is the Kinsler crap, sorry that isn't happening, not going to extend him just to get him. Thank God the Dozier stuff has slowed and on another subject I CAN'T wait for Hall of Fame shit to end!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hall of Fame and the WBC! I can't stand the conversations on either. This is supposed to be the last hurrah of the WBC and I am thrilled. Morosi and his "Breaking News!" WBC tweets drive me up a fucking wall.

Earlier today some MF from Fox used Morosi's old tweet about the Tigers having interest in Bellinger/concerning Kinsler.
I clicked on that X in the upper right hand corner so damn fast, I should get +10 to my speed/tool grade

Someone over the weekend on MLB Radio said he expected the Dodgers to finally come around and trade Bellinger for Dozier. The guy with him was like, "have you been reading about this kid? I've seen him in person, they aren't moving him and especially not for just Dozier."

Media throwing shit at the wall..you knew it was coming after the Dozier talks got tabled because of course the show must go on.
I felt like it'd be at least a couple weeks before anything legitimate bubbled up, things need to settle.
Yeah, the Hall of Fame shit is just madness..holes in arguments galore and on both sides.
Gotta hear about that rat bastard Canseco and his fuckin book every year about this time, that's always great.

    Smh A simple Trump-like " wrong! " would've sufficed there

If all you need is a bogus rumor, why not make up a bogus rumor yourself?
