Should have just said nothing. No comment is always the best answer in these situations.

Laughably cliched lip service is essentially equivalent to a no comment I would think.

Oh no.......Kenley is getting married......looks like he is going to the Marlins. We all know his wife is going to remind him he has a family to feed a la Latrell Sprewell.

His wife is also from Curacao, so that also does not help if she wants to stay closer to home.

Not sure "I want to stay" and "no comment" are equivalent. The former gives leverage to the Twins. The latter arguably gives the Twins pause.

Don't understand players making millions of dollars complaining that they live too far from their original home countries or towns.

Do yourselves a favor....charter or buy one of them G650 ER's and travel in style and comfort to wherever the hell you want to go.

So the latest talk is that the Dodgers themselves are feeling that they have missed on Kenley and he is going somewhere else due to the Marlins going overboard.

The MLB radio guys felt that if he really wanted to go to Miami, he would have signed by now as their sources were that Miami had the best offer on the table by a solid bit. Their reasoning was if you have a big offer and want to go there, you don't give them the chance to rescind it. One of the guys, I think it was Bowden, said he had heard that the Dodgers were balking at 5 years and were only willing to go to 4, but with a higher AAV and potentially a quick opt-out. They had about 5 or more guys on the panel, which is a shitshow for the damned radio, so I may be getting guys mixed up. One is a reporter from the DC area, one was Stern, plus Bowden and a couple other guys. The DC guy said they had heard the Nationals were involved, but not anywhere near the Marlins offer, he did suspect it was better than the Dodgers offer. Another guy said that he knows Kenley and also spoke with someone in his camp, and what he was told was that Kenley is really comfortable in LA and is not big on the idea of leaving and would really prefer to stay.

It was said from day one he would go to the highest bidder, he may have assumed it would be the Dodgers who did that, or another competitive team. So he may be reluctant right now to go to a team that is in relative termoil every couple of seasons. Overall, it does sound like he could be moving, but there may be a chance he is weighing how important LA is to him. Or there are more than 3 teams on this and he is really just thinking things through, who the fuck knows.

I don't think it means we won't be as good, it might just mean MGT prefers to sign Turner and fill 2b with a place holder till Calhoun is ready. With the cost cutting looming I wonder MGT's back up plan is to give Calhoun a shot in ST and if he is not ready Kiki is the year long place holder. I know he sucked last year but he is only one year removed from hitting 300+ with an OBP of 346.

There's something called the airplane that gets you to wherever you want to go. And a G6 will get you there is style.

I do hope Kenley will come to his senses and realize the Marlins will be a basketcase of a team especially with Jose Fernandez gone. But it is leaving a lot of money on the table.

A Twins reporter is really making it sound like the Dodgers and Twins have figured out who they are willing to swap in a Dozier deal. It is sounding like they may be able to get him for a haul centered around guys such as Brock Stewart, Alex Verdugo and or Jose De Leon. I'd really like it if Verdugo was not in there, but we shall see. The Twins are said to be really high on Stewart, which could be interesting if they start to focus in on him as bigger piece.

There is also speculation around the industry that De Leon's star is falling from front of the rotation pitcher, to middle if not back end now. His velocity is becoming worrisome and not being able to stay healthy all year was also an obvious red flag. I'm a little hesitant to want to see him go in a deal as of right now unless that team still values him as a potential 2-3 down the road. If he could show that last year was just a bad year, then he could recoup is front end status and be a much more valuable trade chip(or piece in the rotation). There is a chance that he goes into next season as the 2nd or 3rd best pitching prospect at the start of the season.

I wonder if MGT offers him a 4 year deal with a higher AAV but an opt out after year one. That would in affect allow a renegotiation of the contact with less financial hindrances.

    That piece is bogus.
He's got a MIN fan base on his back, of course he says he prefers to stay

I would somewhat like that, but would not like that they'd be losing the pick for just one year. The good thing is it would allow the organization to find and attempt to groom a replacement. The team has guys who have flashed signs of being viable closers, Hatcher, Liberatore, Ravin, Garcia and even Baez showed growth after working on a pitch in AAA. Then you have guys like Wood, Ryu, Buehler, Frias and Sheffield who could also be placed in the backend if all things worked out. They could all very well fall flat on their faces, but they all have pitches that make them solid relievers.

Gonna go ahead and have to say that I'd like Dozier over JT given the age difference and Dozier's balanced splits.
    What about 3B?
    Solarte?
    Forsythe?
Both also younger than JT, both pretty balanced splits
