Yeah except... those are false equivalents
    Exactly!
Suffocating 24/7 inspection and not allowing or permitting another human "their" space is no bueno everywhere. All cultures. I've been in all sorts of 'roommate' situations over the eons and if You are not willing to give another person grace of privacy then that's on You. Regardless of who it is. Deputy Wench has 30+ years of knowing my every move but still has zero rights to my phone or what's on it. She knows she never will and by now is past that. I hope.

All humans have the right to their own melon.

I don't care how much profit there is to exploit that knowledge.

Bryce Harper in his presser introducing him as a Phillie said he’s ready to bring a championship to DC.

I’m feeling better and better we didn’t get him.

    Very funny.
He also mentioned how he took $26M a year and how it'll help land some guys in the future.." there's a guy that comes off the books in about 2 years. We'll see what happens with that."
    Not so funny.

    You dont agree about Muncy.
I dont think the verdict still out.
I think he is the real deal.
I think Dave sitting him was dumb.
I think Bellinger should get a shot to hit better while playing in RF which is less stressful than CF so Muncy can be the full time 1B.
I think non Dodger fans/media/execs did not see him much/enough and its only been one year.
Hell Dodger fans have not seen many games either thanks to Spectrum.
So there is this collective lack of memory appreciation for Muncy.
Specially in comparison to Joc who has been hitting home runs and righties well for years since the minors.
Muncy has been a scrub and then boom outta nowhere massive power so people who only see highlights or execs who are rushing to put him on their board and have to rate him in comparison to guys like Joc or Verdugo in value are like WTF can I really expect from this guy?
I think Muncy at his best is as good a hitter as we could expect Bellinger to be.
And if at his worst he still out produces Joc.

I know a lot of people still wish to see Joc get regular AB's vs LHP, but the dude is a pure platoon player through and through. You can blame that on the club not giving him regular PT against lefties all you want, but the at bats he does get are pretty damn putrid for a major leaguer. Did anyone see him yesterday or maybe it was the day before when he had to face a lefty? It was a completely non-competitive at bat. When he swings, he looks like a dude that does not want to be in the box. He even admitted to starting to wear the face guard helmet to help him psychologically against lefties(*narrator voice* "it didn't"). For all the complaints about Seager, Bellinger, Hernandez, Taylor and Barnes that I see on this board, Joc should draw the most ire from fans. He has the skills to be a 30-30 guy in big leagues, but he got up and got complacent. We joke about fat Joc, but look at him when he takes his shirt off... which there are more pics than necessary of... the dude has a legit gut and built nothing like his previously mentioned teammates. His range in the OF is all but gone that he is now relegated to LF and he can only play against RHP'ing. This dude is two years away from free agency and no matter how great he is against RHP'ers, the market is showing us that he's probably gonna get a small-short term deal. So instead of coming into camp jacked, ready to take on lefties and prove himself, chipmunk cheeks is out there looking slower than ever, still stepping into the first base dugout, while blindly waving at pitches. Now that Puig is gone, I can be mad at someone else for wasting their talents, that guy is Joc. Sad to see that he doesn't have the competitive spirit to put the platoon shit to bed.

    Notes from around camp
    • Roberts has said that DJ Peters has taken the most impressive step forward over the offseason. Let's hope that this is really them excited about the changes they are seeing and not some BS trade boosting banter. So far he is only 3-14 with 2 bombs and 4 K's. I have said before, Peters figuring things out would be monumental as he would be a RH power bat that we could slip into a corner. An 80 grade power bat added to the lineup would sure be fun. He did have a great spring last year, but was only seeing PT at the end of games.
    • Kershaw seems to be progressing as he threw in uniform today and it sounds like he was fine afterwards. Baby steps, but time is running out for him to be ready for opening day.
    • Buehler threw his first bullpen in two weeks. Everyone says he is fine and they are just protecting his arm after the long season.
    • The team is supposedly working on Yadier Alvarez's mechanics. This is probably the year for the guy. If he can't figure it out, I would not be shocked if the club tries to make him someone else's problem.
    • Edwin Rios has apparently been REALLY sick, which is why we had not seen him for a few. He is getting the start today.
    • Corey Seager will be playing in an MiLB game today. He is not cleared to throw, but there is a chance he DH's this week.
    • Russell Martin aggravated his back. Apparently he has been spending a TON of time in the cages as the club tries to fix his swing.

    good stuff as always ckwg
i guess kershaw deserves the chance to be ready opening day
but it seems stupid to me
no one wins a championship or any awards for the most od starts... why not take the time to make sure they're healthy and not risk a season long nagging injury
all i've heard is how hard a worker kershaw but also how stubborn he is
imo roberts/mgmt needs to take a stand and protect their huge monetary investment
enough with the preferential/kid gloves treatment

love what we're hearing about peters
and as much as i've been a supporter of his for a while, inside i felt his high k ratio would bring him down
so yeah, pretty stoked on his transformation

" Fat Joc " was just 1 part true to life observation and 1 part disappointment. Some guys are just fat and can't help it much, but Joc chose to be fat. When I saw him open the freezer at his house in a vid, and there was literally nothing but ice cream in there, my fears were confirmed. Puig got somewhat tubby at one point and had to be told by the FO to get it together, to at least try and reach his potential. Personally, I'm 110% good with platooning Joc or trading him. Some guys just don't have the make up..the stick-to-it-ness in a game that calls for a grinder's mentality. Joc is probably a season away from asking to be traded anyway, just like Puig wanted to go somewhere that would allow him to be shit against LHP overall but net a few more sporadic HRs for total's sake before free agency

Max Muncy was the best player on the team last year.
Let's trade him in a heartbeat for...anything of value?
Reminds me of the Konerko trade.

    Agree with @ColoradoKidWitGame on Joc.
Appreciate some of his epic moments (won't go into detail as I don't want to cry)...and his 136 wRC+ against RHP is beastly.
BUT...he's too one-dimensional and streaky, and judging by how talented he is, it seems like his laziness and complacency is to blame.
And yet, Verdugo may start in AAA again.
    Pisses me off.
