I'm saving up for a crossbow. My cousin hunts wild turkey & deer in Arizona and Oklahoma with one. I'd like to try it out. I figure I'll drop some weight too. Impossible to be a tub of goo and stalk game like that.

No I said I don't have guns lol.
I have an airsoft pistol somewhere and an old .22, I am definitely not that kind of shooter.

Besides, doesn't gotta be this Saturday
    How bout next.
Y'all can help me transplant hundreds of melon plants from the nursing station.
And we can make some other gardening experiments.

Next weekend would be better for me, just got notified by the onsite manager that Mom and I need to be gone by July 1st or my cousin will get evicted. So I will need to be focusing on that this weekend.

I am down for some yard work. Honestly, I didn't agree to meet up with you because I wanted to shoot a gun or a bow, I really want to pick you brain and enjoy the conversation. You strike me as an interesting character and somebody that I should converse with at least once.

If I am doing yard work though you are going to need to have some good weed. I will bring the volcano.

    Volcano rips and gardening tips!
    Next weekend.
Unless we tempt fate and the mountain behind me turns out to be a Vesuvius.

Apropos of nothing, and everything, and recent news ... but mostly because I've consistently said this about him since the Kate 1990s ....

Fuck Pete Carroll. In every way. Lather. Rinse. RePete.

Pete Carroll, or Greg Popovich. Who's worse?

Both are skilled coaches. Both consider their opinions on legal, social, and ethical matters far more relevant than they are(n't)

If I need spiritual counsel, or if I'm at a moral crossroads, or if I'm broken and I need repair in some way, the lineup of persons I consider for advice reaches triple digits before ANY celebrity or athlete even enters that queue. I'm fortunate to have a good family and friends to access in that capacity. I realize many do not.

But why ANYBODY who doesn't know Pops or Pete would ask themselves, 'I wonder what those old white men think about race issues?" or some such scenario
... baffles the shit out of me.

Anyway ... fuck Pete AND Greg AND Kerr ... equally. There. I feel better.

People that ask a weatherman if it's cold or hot outside.
But not all golfers can see from where the wind is now blowing.
    And where it's going.

Haven’t Pete, Greg, and Steve all coaches 100’s of black men from all parts of the country? Coaching is a pretty intimate relationship, making me think their thoughts have at least some relevance. Probably more relevant than my opinion at least.

    I considered this...
    BUT...
Complaining about a "muslim ban" that wasn't a muslim ban and saying dRumph is a "coward and not a leader" doesn't really have anything to do with knowing black people intimately (homo?)
Their opinions are that orange man is bad no matter what. That's as deep as it gets with them.

I can't imagine hating someone as much as these people hate one man.
And putting myself in a box where I have to boycott, blame everything, and disapprove 100% of that person no matter what.

Up until the FISA abuse, I wanted to like Barack for the most part.
I didn't like apology his tours, individual mandates and a long list of things.
But I didn't hate him and didn't think 100% of him was bad 24/7.
I didn't blame him for everything.
Pop and Kerr are delusional. No matter how many black guys they know.
    And they're basketball coaches.

You could be dead right. OR ... they pander to the Black experience like tourists, knowing that if they don't act like Abe Lincoln, they are out of work.

    Just my eleven cents.

    I hated George Bush.
Then our 2001 space odyssey started.
Which means the sequels next year.

If certain high profile people or organizations don't put out "statements" they're called into question and God help them if those "statements" aren't in lock step with those in positions of moral authority (see Brees, Drew).

One must remember there is only position re. what's been happening in our streets the past couple of weeks and don't dare disagree with it. Civil discourse isn't allowed.

My issue is Momovich saying he's embarrassed to be white.
    I'm embarrased for him too.

Are you saying you find their opinions to be disingenuous and self-serving, or just not worth being put on a pedestal as more important than anyone else’s? Or some combination of factors?

Some are both self serving and in some cases, slightly disingenuous. Some are making statements because it's the thing to do.

    Arguably, both.

Pro coaches deserve the same lack of due process granted to the rest of us.

In my line of work (education) one misstep in an email, tweet, or meeting minutes comment, and your ass is new-mown grass. That's all it takes. These Pro jackasses with their high-priced attorneys say a lot of things, then apologize profusely, then spin doctor the whole thing, and suddenly are exonerated because they're on the proper side of the political spectrum.

I mean, c'mon, @BlueMouse ... you'll admit, no, that 'coming out' on the side of a liberal talking point is easier these days than the flip side? Pete and Pops et al have all the room they want to opine left of center. If either were weighing in pro Trump or pro life or anti BLM or what-have-you, you'll agree their take would be LESS scrutinized.

I'm not going to argue that it's easier to make statements on the right side of history (see what I did there), but that along with all the other caveats like scrutinizing anything a person says that could be in their own personal interest, it seems like you give yourself carte blanche to hate on anything at anytime ever.
