i miss bread more today lol the thing is i feel really calm and have great energy i've never given up so many things all at once but i have a hard time thinking i can ever return to anything close i was poisoning myself that much is clear
i can't have dairy, bread, grain, sugar, alcohol pretty much protein, veggies and fruit i ate so much food today its crazy i need to find other things to eat and its sort of daily lol i don't cook much so i'm getting creative
I used to do this because I was dying from all the poison. I eat pretty well but because I eat balanced I put on weight. The only way for me to not be fat and sick is to do what you are doing. From 330 to 160 by intermittent fasting, no simple carbs/starches/sugars during the workweek, lots of nuts/seeds, fruits/vegs during the week. From friday night to Sunday night eat proteins, sugars, carbs, fats etc.. but in many small meals a day instead of a few big meals. I have put on 50 lbs since I got married and I had put on 20 lbs in the months leading up to the wedding. Been poisoning myself with gluten, vegetable oils, sugars, and other things that feed bad bacteria, yeasts, fungus, and any malignant cells in your body. I need to get back to disciplining myself better. I am getting inspired a little bit by reading your progress.
5 days in i'm having some serious cravings imagining myself stopping in san carlo deli for a turkey sandwich and i'm fucking ravenous what a trip my body is definitely in detox mode not starving but i really just want to incorporate these lessons into good habits if i could learn to live like this during the week and have weekends off i think it would be worth it just not sure it works that way
won't lie... i sometimes crave a burger, or carnitas, etc... whiskey not so much but knowing it would kill me is a pretty good incentive
Rule 1 for potlucks, never eat potato salad. Rule 2 for potlucks, never eat anything with the word salad in it. Rule 2 for potlucks, if its called salad it most likely has loads of mayo, dairy, or egg and has been sitting out for hours and hours.
1. Buy jackfruit and shred the pith up into a saucepan with some chopped onions and tomato and let it simmer. 2. Buy king oyster mushroom and shred them into a pyrex with some olive oil and garlic then throw into the oven for 20 minutes. 3. After the 20 minutes remove mushrooms from the oven and dump them in the saucepan, scraping all the good bits from the pyrex. 4. Add some BBQ sauce and/or your favorite spices. Good for this are paprika, cayenne, a little cumin, mustard powder, and turmeric. 5. Simmer for another 20 minutes then serve in between some burger buns that have been spread with coleslaw on both sides. Vegan sloppy joes that actually taste good without having to eat soy, gluten, or dairy. Here is a version that is easier without the jackfruit. But the jackfruit addition is worth it imo. I dunno about kale slaw though.
Yeah, we make our own bread too. I am not celiac but I have a high sensitivity to gluten. So my wife makes me breads made out of mostly spelt/amaranth/millet//seeds/nuts. Spelt is not gluten free but it is a different type of gluten protein that is much more water soluble and digestible. Plus its super high in fiber which also helps digest the gluten before it can do most of its inflammation damage. Oats have a similar gluten protein that is different from the really bad one in wheat but 99% of oat companies process their oats using the same machines they use to process their wheat products. The cross contamination with trace amounts of wheat gluten make oats a no go for most celiacs. I feel worse when I eat oatmeal, but thats probably because I dont like oatmeal.
thanks rube i'll check those out i satisfy my burger cravings with boca mushrooms have a lot of flavor and use if you're ever in hermosa beach check out the spot they make tons of good vegetarian stuff, including a walnut/mushroom meatloaf that's incredible!
valid points used to work with safety prevention in accordance w/the health department the most common/frequent violations i saw was leaving condiments (particularly mayo) out at room temp and cross contamination (knives, cutting boards)
Damn....I'm crushed. All you wise cracking, hard assed, foul mouthed, hooligans are nothing more than sawdust eating granola bar hippies. .....crushed I say.....
Sorry to hear about the heart. My liver and herniated discs in my lumbar and neck also sympathize. Is granola GF though?
