you know theres few things that piss me off more than a "friend" sizing me up w dollar signs when the whole multi level marketing (amway pyramid) shit started suddenly everyone was a stock broker/advisor lol i had a work out buddy who was a general and during a workout he started in w an obvious pitch but kept saying he was inviting me to dinner i warned him not to have a sales pitch and that it would change our relationship if he did that to me no no no just come over for dinner and we'll talk about stuff... walked in and about 25 other captive "friends" were uncomfortably seated about w 3 obvious salesmen getting ready to command the room i was polite and listened for about 15 minutes of this spiel and then just stood up and walked out my "buddy" caught me at the door w a "what about dinner?" and i just said "im not that hungry" and didn't even look at him it definitely had and adverse affect on our friendship like you said, just hit me up for the money and i'll say yes or no i don't need all the other salesman shit wtf thats what i'm good at so you insulted me
No surprise probably but I was suckered into joining Amway at 16. They get you with a lot of wish fulfillment fantasy shit. It is horrible how they prey on immigrants and the less than educated. But mostly they prey on the sad and lonely. They want outgoing people with lots of friends and family of course, but they know those well adjusted types are few and far between. They actively look for losers or would be losers. The predators are looking for more predators to join them and help predate on the sheep. Slick fast talking bullshitters do well. Specially once you understand that its all a scam and you have to play the numbers. I could not afford the kit to start off with. And the 'super nice guy' that was trying to get me in said that if I pawned my guitar and amp to come up with half the money that he would loan me the rest. I had just got my first electric guitar and while it was a knock off gibson it still felt awesome. I was too young to join so they had me lie on the application and say I was 18. I refused to bring in any family member or friend from the start. The guy didn't care. He wanted me to give the sales pitch. The dude was Philipino and his english was not perfect but he had a shitton of flips on his downline. So he would take me to their shows where I would be the secret weapon that went up in my perfect english and gave a Tony Robbins like version of his canned sales speech. He would pay for my tickets to all their big events and basically pay for everything. Food, lodging, product. I never lost a dime out of my own money because I was getting paid 200 bucks for every show I put on. The director dude would bring in the people and I would close them. It is unequivocally the best way to meet women who want to get down to business.
