You cant blame the corners as the main reason Nate wasnt productive man or wont be productive. Dallas D still almost as bad as last year (22 pass D/23 rush D adjusted...on a per drive basis, statistically as bad as last year) but the offense being on the field and sustaining drives limited the exposure of how bad the defense still was. A great corner can hide the fact that any safety is trash. See Patrick Chung/Revis. Earl Thomas can make Cary Williams look like a stud which youll see this year.
Luck can hide the fact that the Indy Colts are garbage without him.
You're simply saying that IF nate has an elite caliber corner hell be fine. Well sure. Given if hes playing for Seattle or the Jets
But youre caught up in PFF stats. Watch games. Read well respected writers who cover the Eagles who provide excellent analysis
Youll come to the same conclusion im telling you. He lacks the physical and mental tools to be good.
Instead of blaming everything besides Nate for not being good, why cant we just blame nate. Scheme and personnel and hes sucked for how many years while Malcolm Jenkins steps in and plays well?

Again, Nate had a solid plus rating his last couple years in Philly, so my aim isn't to blame the corners or defend Allen..it's to be reasonable. Allen's not all that instinctive and the Eagle corners didn't have the necessary talent to stand up in that system, but Allen still managed to improve over the last couple years even with weak structure.

And like I said before..Allen is obviously no Reed and of course he's no Earl Thomas either. If the basis of your argument is that Nate Allen is not elite you will find no objection from me.

I didn't call the young Raider corners elite, did I? Nope. I pointed out the cracks at the root of Philly's scheme. Again, he was a plus defensive player the last 2 years, so he was OK with a couple corners who couldn't handle themselves within Philly's scheme.

Again, it's his lack of instincts more than else you've mentioned. As far as his physical tools he's a tweener..much like Woodson is currently, so he can learn a lot from Woodson.

I've already said that Allen isn't that good. From the very beginning I said he was solid and improving..never called him good. You can and will blame Nate and that's fine. Again, like I said from the beginning, Philly fans are unreasonable. Once you struggle in Philly, book closed..especially if you were drafted early. Doesn't matter if you got hurt, or if your front office shuffled defenses blindly looking for an answer after Jim Johnson's departure..you're a " bum ".

As for the Eagles letting Allen test the market after his 1st year of improvement and him not getting the offers he wanted..that was smart of the Eagles. But if he was so bad..why bring him back? And 1 year later, with a 2nd straight improving/solid year in his back pocket, Allen goes out and tests the market and gets offered the Texans' starting safety spot before a solid player like Rahim Moore. Enough said..hopefully, because I tire of talking about Nate Allen.

Per a source with knowledge of the contract, Knighton’s one-year deal (reported widely as being worth $4 million), pays out $2.95 million guaranteed. Another $500,000 is tied to per-game roster bonuses, and another $450,000 will be paid based on his ability to comply with specific weight clauses.

Close to Suh? He'd have to be seriously delusional to expect that.

Phew....Hawks rested 3 starters and Korver breaks his nose after 10 minutes, but luckily they won. I've been on their bandwagon all season since the Lakers are so dreadful. Love how unselfish they are and it's always nice to see a team without egos succeed. Unfortunately, I think Cleveland will be too much for them in the playoffs. Lakers with the 4th worst record and 2 1/2 games ahead of Philly, and 3 games ahead of Minnesota. I'm hoping they somehow finish worse than one of those two if not both...probably wishful thinking.

It makes you go back and think about all those games that they should've lost..like wtf were they thinking going on a 3 game win streak a little while back? smh

I just want a Top 4 pick. There's a far fall in terms of talent after the Top 4 guys, imo

Every time I see Wilfork I laugh at his claim of 325lbs.

What a disastrous offseason for the Niners....blow after blow for them. What's next? Also, I can't believe the Lakers almost won at GS with GS playing all of their starters. Chill the fuck out Lakers.

Hawks at Warriors on ESPN Wednesday should be fun.

    Trent Richardson.

He's worth a shot. It's a good low risk signing. Let's see how he competes.

Yeah, interesting signing. They put some money in front of him and told him that it's pretty much his last shot, so we'll see. I personally can't see him beating Murray out and Helu is gonna have his role of course, but Richardson will have every chance to do so. Murray has to compete..losing out to Richardson would be embarrassing, so he better be working hard and hit the ground running in camp. Fiscally responsible contract that could pay off for Richardson. Still have about 15M in cap space as far as free agency spending goes.

Don't think Trent will ever amount to anything, but it was a low risk move so I can't complain.

Gresham likely needs back surgery..hopefully they don't sign him. A lot of analysts and mocks have Maxx Williams sliding to the early part of the 2nd round because the teams at the back end of the 1st round are trying to patch up their defenses and O-lines. If we can get Amari Cooper and Maxx Williams with our 1 and 2..that'd be tremendous. Both with the top grades at their positions. We'll be set at tight end with Maxx Williams, Rivera, and Smith.
