worry, no... long past that stage depression, past that as well i've almost come to expect the annual failures three division titles in a row is great... if you're the fucken brewers but when you're supposed to be perennial WS contenders year after year just gets old is all jays get tulo and price at the deadline, we get latos and johnson which team is trying to win a world series?...
They gave up their future for this title run good for them! We weren't willing to do that which I agree with and besides I don't think the Rockies would have traded him within the division anyway and we have at present a SS for at least the next few years. Then you picked the 2 guys who got DFA'd as the guys we got? You're better than that brother. Jays will be eliminated soon and they won't have Price next year and will have to deal with Tulo who has an iffy injury history. Bottom line to me we still have our specs and soon the Jays and their fans will be saying wait until next year just like us. You can respond if you want but like you said we both think that we are right and that's fine with me, you won't be getting a response from me anymore, I promise
where did i ever say we should have pursued tulo? all i was doing was pointing out the quality of player(s) went after vs. the shit we acquired easy to shit on the jays when they're down 3-1 but you cannot deny their owners went for it
Ok, go 3 years back and see where the Cubs and Mets were then. No, wait...I'll do it for you. In 2012 the Cubs were 61-101 and in 5th in their division. They held on to their youth and look at them now. In 2012 the Mets were 74-88, 4th in the division, and they held on to their youth. In 2012 the Dodgers were 86-76 but are JUST NOW starting to hold on to their youth. In 3 years, the old vets will be gone (this is a good thing) and what will remain is a core of home-grown "vets" and youth that will make us the Cubs and Mets of the future. What you are saying is that you want us to go out and spend the big bucks for the top FA's while at the same time admiring the Cubs and Mets for hanging on to their youth. Can't have it both ways. I know you're hungry for a title. Well, I'm hungry for titleS. Fuck one and done, bring on the dynasty bkitch.
We have a number of players, front office and owners who are not part of Dodger history or folklore. Anderson is a perfect example as he has no Dodger history after this year and may have none next year. Even our principle owner is/was a Cubs fan.
We are just not as good as those other orgs at building a team...we need to spend money and hold on to the prime kids...plain and simple. You can have it both ways. IMO, if not signing anyone big, and just waiting for "the kids" to get us a ring, in 3 years, is a fairy tale. Very fairy. And like I've written dozens of times, who cares how much they spend? Not me. These people writing in their posts as if they know how to throw millions around; that's "too much" or " too long" are amusing to say the least. But it'll go on and on...and not change. And neither will the fact that we've been there in post over and over again and again. And unflinchingly, we are failures....if looking into the future is a fun-filled oasis of glory for some, I'm envious. For me, the coming years hold this: I think Donnie stays, Hilary becomes first woman/lesbian president, and the LAD go nowhere.
Murphy is going to turn this into a nice contract. Some team will give it to him and he'll lay a giant fuckin egg in the regular season.
How do you know they won't be good at it they have been here less than 2 years. I don't think the FO is going to go balls out for the big names but sign a A- type of player like Jordan Zimmerman. Do you do a happy dance like we all did here when DBB bailed?
Yeah, I'm glad he's gone. I'm the first guy that ever went at him here. Not dancing too much lately, though. And of course I don't know how good they'll be, like no one else does...just my feelings about them. I'm pretty positive that they won't build a pitching staff like the Mets though...or an offense like the Cubs. That's what I meant. We're always " a bat away...or a starting pitcher away"...or both...always. Have been for a very, very long time.
For me, the coming years hold this: I think Donnie stays, Hilary becomes first woman/lesbian president, and the LAD go nowhere. Well, you're 0 for 1 so far, cancel that trip to Vegas I was going to take with you...
OK...shit. You can ask me if you should take a hit, and go oppo. Or roulette could be promising....red/black. I want to be ofer...I hope I am. I wonder how important sports is compared to the middle one.
Oh, yeah I know. No doubt about it. A country like ours and this is the only people we can come up with. IDK. I grew up in the second most corrupt county in the US, after Cook Co., IL of course. Hudson County, NJ. A den of iniquity. And those guys looked like bastions of freedom compared to these people in most cases.
Can't really see the board willing to go through the suffering the Cubs went through to get Schwarber and Bryant too.
Don't know about you but life is great and we are prospering and have bounced back plus from the great recession. Working out awesome. Can only speak of personal experience and can't relate to your question in a baseball context.
