There is a pattern set already where he plays well offensively early on as long as he gets to play 1 position.
As soon as Dave starts moving him around to cover other players weaknesses he starts hitting .250

Idk, if you look at his splits, he has a gradual decline over the months without a super sharp decrease. His OPS has dropped every month by a little. He was already declining in OPS every month prior to August, which is when they started playing him a bit at 1B/CF

Also, his OPS is still very good. He had an unreal start and now is playing very good instead of Barry bonds status. Idk. I don’t think he should be babied where he can only play one position, especially since his gradual decline was occurring prior to even moving him off the one position, so there’s no guarantee he becomes April Cody if he stays in RF

This info is all valid and interesting, but to expect the kid to maintain a .340 BA is sheer folly.
Ted Williams has come and gone, and even juiced balls and DH dilution to the game will not produce another like him.

true, but if we actually tried letting him play one position it would be the first time so there's really no data to disprove it either

This is a good point that I hadn't considered. Maybe we need someone with a little fire in their belly...

Making sense of some of the org's moves..as in Joc continuing to hit lead off during his major slump..maybe because they envisioned him getting hot around OCT, as he's done so often in the past, and they want to show their belief in him? And yep, Belli goes a bit cold in August ( .918 OPS).." fuggit, stick him in CF to strengthen the D up the middle for the post run, and we can make up for the offense elsewhere ". Swinging at that pitch on the back foot again..guess that can make an org think defense 1st. Doubt they feel he'll stop swinging at it if he's playing on the corners. But it also doesn't seem like Belli minds the switch. Sounds like Belli's embraced it..unlike a former best position player of ours, Kemp who pouted and moaned about having to move off CF for sake of the team..

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Bellinger for putting an emphasis on defense, via Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times:

“When I think of a leader, it’s a person who is unselfish,” Roberts said. “When you’re really putting a priority on defense, that shows leadership.”

Definitely willing to try something different. Think Kersh had plenty of fire in his belly, but was the fire more powerful than the butterflies? Rather have Buehler completely confident in himself up there, whether he fails or not. Nothing wrong with a confident leader if that's what his aim is. If not, it's definitely what they hope he is because I don't know how they could have any confidence in Kersh/Ryu

If he hits like Barry Bonds he can play exclusively 1B or even in LF if he wants.

In fact young Bonds and Bellinger have a lot of similarities I hadn't considered.
