Hell Yeah! For once in the last few months I'm right! 1 could be a fluke, 2 in the same game is really showing some promise. Now, can he keep it up? Is he going to try to do too much in S.D. trying to impress the booing hometown fans and slide backwards? Petco ain't the same ballpark as Cincy. Go Adrian...make us all feel better.
I think some of this has to be plate approach. They arent moving runners, and it doesnt even look like they are trying. They are swinging for a gapper when they might only need to hit a roller to 2B. I have crossed thoughts on if they should change batting coaches again. Let's be honest, it gets old after the 3rd or 4th, and this team was hitting well at the start of the season. But you just cant have your whole lineup struggling at the same time without questioning approach and strategy.
every time i pop its a seminal moment and that would be much more frequent if agon started hitting the ball again. but lets not start sucking each others dicks just yet.
Well someday in the future AGon and Kemp will be hitting and hitting for power at the same time. Throw in Ramirez and Ethier and then we will see the team we wished for. Too bad this season was thrown in the dumpster.
Exactly... And those will be fun times... Add Crawford with a good .340 OBP with speed and pop at the top (leadoff or 2nd), and there you have an exciting team... Too bad this year is about to be history... I think our REAL curse is the curse of The overhyped prospect, where only a small number of our draftees become what we hope they can become... Other than CK and Kemp, all the other "cant miss" prospects have turned into big misses... I saw the list the put together at the times and its amazing ( i remember how pissed some of us where when they traded away guys like Guzman and Jackson)...
This is why I leave the evaluating to the guys that have more hands on experience who see these guys on a daily basis.
Nah... Dnt you know that us, pure fans that only see about 2% of what the players do, know more about the game than managers and trainers that make millions out of it??? Its always proven that way....
We forget they left their families and family structure behind for the most part. Especially Hanley. He left a couple of young kids back in Miami. Where is AGon's family? These guy get traded and have to leave at the drop of a hat. Was there team at home when they found out or on the road? Were there family issues they were dealing with and suddenly got separated for more than a road trip?
Ignore that shit Turborg, they are robots. Nobody will have sympathy for them here, we want winners! I agree with you though, that has got to be a hard thing to do, accept, and then be succesful at an already super difficult job called major league baseball. Some guys can do it, but it's very rare. Scutero did it, Manny did it with help from PEDs. Everyone else off the top of my head fail for awhile after a trade. Vic/AGon/Hanely/League/Choate/Pence/Dempster/Greinke to name a few.
Well it looks like the obvious has occured....AGon was a huge improvement over Loney at the plate and was just as good defensively. The mystery to me was that it wasn't the team changer(turn around) I always thought it would be...but then again, the stagnet offense from the rest of the middle of the order was probably the cause. When Kemp and the rest woke up we banged out 8 runs a game 4 days in a row followed by a 7 run game.
A Gon struggled and here are the comparisons between him and that trick since the trade (AGon top line, bitch bottom line): .296/.344/.444/.788 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 3 HR, 21 RBI and a 0.7 WAR .240/.275/.323/.598 with 2 doubles, 0 triples, 2 HR, 8 RBI and a -0.1 WAR SOOOOOO fucking happy that he is gone. Damn 2013 is going to be awesome.....
I agree. I don't think he's gonna git 28 HR+ anymore, but if he's hitting the gaps it doesn't matter to me as long as Kemp is healthy. A healthy Kemp= 40 HR imo. I like what A Gon is doing. Even his outs are usually a good piece of hitting. He's taking what's given to him.
I think AGon will hit 25-30 HRs next year easily...maybe even 35. He will have a stacked lineup all around him with lots of speed on the bases in front of him. He should be "happy" here in L.A. when things get going well. I do think the Green monster took some of his HRs away since he can hit them out to LF, even in Petco. The wall height is the problem in BOS. His doubles went up about 12 per year from Petco to Fenway and his singles shot up to a ridicules 213 from 176! His lack of speed probably made Green monster doubles risky for him, so many of them might of only ended up singles.
This will be the first off-season in a longtime that I won't be looking at all the FA lists and trade candidates and wishing/praying/hoping that there is a 1B we might be able to get. We finally got one!
