Okay, given that the end looks near and we are all getting excited for the change BUT it cannot happen fast enough, how about a game. This one will be a two part game. The first part will consist of choosing the new owner. Because it likely that many will bow out and the occasional will jump in between now and the deadline for application, I think this should be fluid until Jan 30. At that point, you will have until April 30 to choose one of the acknowledged bidders (if they are released). If they are not released, we will play it based upon supposition and conjecture (the way McCourt works the books). The second part is guessing the exact dollar amount (within 1K) that the Dodgers are sold for. What does everyone think?
Mark Cuban $854,002,069 Cash sale. Price includes parking lots. Support: I think the rumored sale prices are severely overestimated with a stadium that needs serious renovations and a farm system that needs an overhaul, Frank needs a complete payout to save his ass, MLB is not going to be too keen on buyers who need to borrow money, and only a complete masochist would make this deal leaving McCourt with any stake in the team operations... Plus I like to dream, and let's face it, Cubes would kick-ass.
No idea who will get the team, but mt list of "WANTS" so far... 1a) Cohen 1b) Cuban 2) Magic Distant 3) Gilbert
I think Frank picks the Time-Warner package, whatever that might be, just to screw Fox. I could see TW landing behind Caruso-Torre. TW gets the Dodger Channel and builds a new stadium downtown, Caruso gets the Ravine and Torre runs the franchise. But, who knows...
