    It was...hope it still is. That was what my original post was about....whether these pieces are better than a straightup trade for a Price or Hamels. Consensus seems to be, yes, the current trade is better. Which is fine. I hope it holds up.

    And the deadline hasnt passed yet, so we'll see.

    But getting the big names....I just thought that was what the Guggenheims were all about.

    There is also something else in this vein. I could see if money was being saved lke crazy on ignoring the BIG names out there that we thought they were after...little did we know. But they seem to have an overwhelming propensity to spend vast sums of money on quite a few, pretty much non-players and nobody. For guys not to play or DFA or move along...
    It's like a negative space thing in some ways.

    Anyway, lets put aside the prospect aspect of the 13 player trade and all the DFA's, the net of this trade that will help us this year is Latos and Wood, Johnson and Avilan in the BP.

    Am I missing anyone else in terms or contributing players this year?
