1 real good starter. 1 real good reliever. 1 real good hitter. All we really need. As long as young guys continue to play well and the good vets co back from their slumps and injuries.
Met Leary this past Thursday. Could tell he wanted to leave early, but hey, he stayed and took pic with the kids and signed autographs.
We already have one. I mean one more. Either through trade to replace the guy we lost to FA or an Urias coming up gangbusters Same with the reliever and the hitter. Like if Montas or DeLeon show up to become a bridge to kenley and we sign a hitter or at least one of our hitters wakes up we should be alright. If puig or turner or even kendrick return to form that should be enough. Old man chase needs one of either turner or Kendrick to secure 3b and hit well. And Joc seems to have a hitting partner in trayce so we just need puig to regain his hitting ability or a Verdugo or bellinger to come up and contribute. Seager is solid and agon is on a slow downhill that can be managed. Grandal is a catcher so you get what you can as long as he is good behind the plate. Kenley just needs one powerful dude to help him. Same with Kershaw. Then the Kenta can be our number 3 and the bottom of the rotation will include the of the rest of bolsinger wood strippling Mccarthy at 4 and Ryu at 5. So if by t he deadline our injured pitchers come back ok. Urias secures the 2 spot. Montas or DeLeon shore up the bullpen. And one of our slumping hitters regains form... our team will be able to face off against most comers.
NP. Gave me the opportunity to write more Point being that while we suck balls right now, its not hopeless. There are good players on the horizon coming in through the clouds. We have young guys who are ready to come up and are either destroying the minor leagues or showing the skills that readily translate into MLB success. And at the positions we are most weak. Plus we have good players and decent veterans coming off injury who will also improve our club real soon. To top that off we have a core of regulars who have been good players in the recent past but are underachieving... all in that group cant underachieve the entire season. Which all leads me to believe that a massive turnaround is going to happen pretty soon. So why not be the good fans that weather the storm and wait for the clouds to break and the wave to hit? Or is the wave too old fashioned for saber rattlers? I personally love the wave. But more than the wave i love the surge. When the water recedes for a bit and the surf gets low. Thats when the tide is building up and its just a matter of time before the wave hits. Then its all whitewater splashing everywhere. Like champagne on the clubhouse ceiling.
waves huh? problem is, as the saying goes, thy sea is so great and our boat is so small the ocean also has tides, hence ebb and flow longfellow [no homo] wrote that the tide rises and falls but he also spoke of twilight darkening, curlew calling, darkness settling, waves effacing the footprints in the sand, and the day returning... but nevermore breaking down those nautical references/translating from verse... we have too many worthless passengers on our small boat and the money owed to unproductive/injured/useless passengers like carl, mehcarthy, guerrero and others is causing our vessel to spring leaks the problem could easily be repaired but instead of acquiring capable deckhands the owner/operators have chosen to try and get by with lesser help and you get what you pay for although sometimes you get less every night we go to sleep hopeful for what the new day brings red skies at night, sailors delight but when we awaken red skies in the morn, be warned so we seek refuge, alternatives... red skies in the morn, go watch some porn rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby
12-6, Methusla. Pretty much a career year for him as well, his lowest career FIP and WHIP. Although he did go on to win 15 three times.
