Simply not enough good players on this team. You have Howie Kendrick hitting cleanup. Kershaw has picked them up all year and they score 3 runs against some dude making his MLB debut. Now shitty Kazmir tomorrow to try and prevent a 4-game sweep.
That's what teams that win do when they need a player to put them over the top while we just ignore the obvious and get cute.
If you can't pick up your best pitcher on an off night against a mediocre team like the Pirates, this is a crap team. There really needs to be a FO shakeup in either personnel or philosophy. We should be building toward a WS, not digressing for efficiency sakes.
Shouldn't have to adjust when it wasn't over the plate and the umpire was told so by different hitters on different teams all night. Did he ever stop to think he didn't know WTF he was doing and adjust?
Sadly it doesn't work that way. It's up to the players to adjust to how the game's being called, right or wrong. That's the way it is.
Puig batting sixth. Inching up the lineup. Soon enough he will be batting 5th. He is hitting .500 basically since coming back. BTW his slash split for the year away from Dodger stadium is pretty good. Away .283 .347 .451 vs Home .216 .225 .295 Most of his at bats have been away, but his line at Dodger Stadium is atrociously low which affects his overall stats. Maybe have him start all the games away and start Trayce at home. Trayce is excellent at home and shitty away. Home .280 .362 .581 vs Away .198 .270 .352 We really do need some of these young OF to come up so Dave has plenty of options.
This is a four game series? Can we just move on? Shows how much better the gnats are. Even year magic is real. Cubs can't stop it. They will fail in the NLCS. Rangers, I don't think can stop it. Giants will win again and we will wallow in sorrow. We will complain. BZ will make comments about Vin being happy. The nerds will have everyone against them, except for a few, and we will bicker at one another. Can it be the all star break already?
Puig's numbers away from Dodger Stadium are .274/.336/.436 In other words, meh, but not terrible. If anything at all it means opposing teams need to pick up the phone, send us a starting pitcher for him, and allow him to compile more stats away from Dodger Stadium.
Since Vin will be gone, I won't begrudge him his Giant joy. Might as well have at least someone happy if that horror scenario should occur. It's my not like the geyser Old Faithful is it ...a force of nature? BB can't be that predictable, can it? Even if they take the NLW, as it looks now, they may not get there (WS) again and go 4 for 4. Might be another team's year, since it seems to be written in stone with almost everyone that they have to win in an even year. They are however, being called the best team in bb...if a couple of guys on mlbtv truly matter. They could have a key injury, although since Pence went down, they are better than when he was playing. Strange things like that, over and over again with them, seems to be what seperates them not only from us, but every other team in baseball.
Put myself on a Dodgers detox with the help of a vacation I'm about to take. Didn't watch last night, can't today, won't tomorrow, then I'll be out of the country for a couple weeks. Gonna check in. This post sounds like I'm full of myself but, just hopefully gonna feel good to get away from being mad at these idiots. I'm expecting the rotation to include Joe Blanton, Casey Fien, and Blue Mouse by the time I come back Anyways, go Dodgers, and hope to be surprised when I check in
All 3 of those guys look like better options than Tepesch. Especially Blue Mouse. Enjoy your vacation....A Dodgers detox sounds extremely healthy.
I turned it on and it's 1-0 Bucs, bases corroded. To think, although I intitially couldn,'t stand him, I almost got to a point were I thought he was" coming around". Haha... ...And he just walked in a run. Way to go, Scott.
