I really don't want Bruce. I'd take a Steve Pearce/Ethier platoon with Pearce roaming around to get more playing time. Not that Ethier is healthy. But I just don't think Bruce is all that good
.313/.390/.527 150 wRC+ this season. Versitle defender and mashes lefties. So yeah...I'd say he's a good fit for the Dodgers.
I keep flip flopping cause there's so many signs that say Bruce's hitting will come down but also: he's been so damn good this year he's the masher you put in the middle of the lineup and can change a game. He's been that good this year, the guy like you've said you can stick in the middle of the lineup and just rely on against righties. He doesn't give you a good overall value with his D and base running but on offense alone he becomes the 2nd most dangerous guy in the lineup
agreed what i've been saying all along guy is having a career season in a potential (club option) walk year before 2016, his career slash line was .248/.319/.462 and his defense is fucken abhorrent he'll hit you some bombs but he'll k 150 times and kick the ball around we don't need any more 7-8 inning hanley types imo could be wrong about bruce and, if we get him, i hope i am wrong... but i don't believe i am
Yeah he'd be fantastic too, mentioned him and a couple other Rays that'd be solid fits (Guyer as well). Oddly haven't seen the Dodgers mentioned with Pearce, but this front office does work quietly
This. Pence doesn't change the fact that they have no bullpen and Peavy-Cain-Samardjshdha fill out their rotation. Imagine if the Giants win today. The narratives! BTW. The game is on FS1 at 1:00.
he could go 0-for-5 w/5 k's and the sfg faithful would cite his inspiration as the reason they won hopefully he goes 5-for-5 and they lose 17-3
Not to mention how ESPN will slobber all over him, how the Giants are back, that they are back to the team to beat in the NL. Doesn't ESPN still have the Gnats ranked 2nd in their power rankings even with their horrid record since the break?
