i keep watching the highlights really proud of our guys tomorrow's game is huge despite what anyone says going up 3-1 would be huge 2-2 not so much come on julio [racist]
Solid start by Hill and the bats came to life a bit. Lets top tonight's effort and beat em by 10 in game 4!! Hoping Urias has a great start tomorrow!
Anyone think they might go with Kershaw game 5 then if needed Hill and Urias for games 6 and 7 on short rest? I'd be surprised if Kershaw starts game 5 if the series is at 3-1 after game 4. Best case scenario, they win game 4 behind Urias and Maeda gets game 5 and they just kick the shit out of these bkitch ass cubs!
have to say i'm a bit concerned about urias tomorrow he can't fall behind hitters and has to avoid big innings the first couple innings are huge he has to establish control right away without leaving pitches out over the plate not an easy task especially for a rook we have a lot of momentum right now while the cubs are struggling and doubting themselves we need to keep them there
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...s-bats-ice-cold-spt-1019-20161018-column.html Here is the highlight: Reporter: "Julio Arias has displayed a pretty effective pick-off move. … Some have said it's very close to a balk." Maddon: "Close?" He smiled, having planted the seed. And Maddon wasn't finished, holding nothing back in referring to Urias' move as "Balking 101.'' Maddon might as well have announced: Attention, Game 4 umpires. "When you get to see it on TV, it's not even close,'' Maddon said. "I'm certain that the umpiring crew has been made aware of it.''
That's been a thing all year, even within the LAD fan base, just because they didn't sign an ace or trade all our best prospects for one at the deadline. Been the best at suppressing opponent exit velo pretty much all year. Being good enough is all that matters, in the past I've drawn the parallel to recent World Series winners in this era..KC, SFG, and even Boston..none of those teams were loaded with aces on the starting staff, but all of them had bullpens that could lock it down.
I am too. All I can say is I have more faith we can get to lackey for more runs than the cubs can get from Urias.
The thing I'm least looking forward to is Maddon whining to the umps all game about his pickoff, Dave or someone really needs to sit Urias down and figure out a way to get his move safe from the microscopic examination it's going to receive. If they start serially calling balks on him it could really fuck his groove and mind up.
This shit pisses me off. I've seen the same attitude on Twitter - woe is us [the general public] if the Dodgers make the WS. As if the Dodgers aren't a storied franchise in the 2nd biggest US market who just led the league in attendance. I guess we aren't the story the Cubs are? But who the fuck cares? It's sports. The beauty of sports is the outcome isn't written by a suit in an office crunching ratings numbers. If it was, the Cubs WS Drought nut would've been busted a long time ago, and this "story" they have today wouldn't even exist. If the Dodgers don't "engage the younger and casual fans" then, honestly, fuck 'em. Anyone who is going to mope and groan about the motherfucking Los Angeles Dodgers, dem Bums, the Azul, the Boys of Summer, in the motherfucking World Series... well those ass-hats don't deserve to be sports fans. Fuck that greedy ass ratings motherfuckers, get off our lawn.
To steal from the great Winston Wolfe........"Well, let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet."
Thank you for not bringing the ready made "the umpires are squeezing him" excuse for Urias which seems to pop up when he doesn't pitch well. Urias will succeed or fail on his own merit. I think he'll do just fine. Young man has good makeup (no homo).
Good reason for that drought............90 percent of the time the Cubs were fucking dreadful, as bad a franchise as there was in the game.
Maybe the best jam job (no homo) I've ever seen. Rizzo has to be totally mind fucked at this point. Hope he stays that way.
On the same page with all of you. I will be really pissed if the umpire crew starts fucking with Urias. My feeling is if they make that call once to make a point, that is going to move the needle to the Cubs favor big time. The team really needs a good start out of the kid, but I could see some shit call like that unravel things quickly for him. He may be years ahead of his age, but he is still 20 and pitching in the biggest game of his life. I could totally see Angel Hernandez tighten the zone on him too, which has me a bit worried. I really hope the umps just let the game go tonight, that zone last night was pretty awful for both teams and no team deserves to win or have momentum shifted for them, because a fucking umpire felt it was his duty to rattle a rookie(THIS HAPPENS).
Unfortunately the kid isn't stretched out (no homo, no pedo). I'm thinking four innings is his best case scenario, with three more likely if he isn't pitch efficient. Is Wood on the roster? Stripling? I have a feeling we're going to need some long relief, regardless of Urias pitching well or not.
Yeah I heard they were supposed to turn LAD into a 3rd place team in the west. But as much hype as AZ got, they didn't win the offseason..not even at the time. Cubs were the " offseason champs "
I went back to the tape. Confirmed, hot chick is a Dodgers fan. Cubs fan looks like he's ready to kill someone.
