Balls! Enough said http://www.nationalgeographic.com/a...solo-climb-yosemite-national-park-el-capitan/
Au contrere! He had a 4.7 GPA, went to Berzerkley to study engineering, dropped out and then started climbing. I give him bonus points for doing this sort of thing before he has kids, and before he needs to have life insurance which I'm sure would have a problem with this sort of occupation. lol.
A couple years ago I watched pretty much anything you can find on YouTube about Alex Honnold because the shit he does defies belief. Make no mistake, he's crazy, but listening to him it's hard to say he's anything but a bright, smart guy. I think he went to Berkeley for one semester then dropped out. Around that time his dad died and his mom gave him part of the life insurance money. He took the money, bought a van, and budgeted it out so he could live for years in his van while rock climbing and figuring out his next step. But before he knew it he was getting sponsorships so he never stopped. The guy lives dirt cheap, donates a lot of his money to charity, and climbs almost daily. I think the most infectious thing about him is how passionate he is about climbing. There are certain people you can tell are doing what they were born to do, and he is without a doubt one of those people. I would not surprised if I read an article tomorrow that he died climbing, nor would I be surprised if he outlived everyone on this board. The guy is a freak, and nothing but kudos for him.
He's a genetic freak. Scientist have studied his brain function....how he can block out fear so easily. Also, his hands and fingers look like logs. They are huge and thick. It's like he has troll hands.
Honnold is still waaaaaaay more beast. I've done ice dip challenges. Piece of cake. Warm spa into semi-frozen pool... holding beer..swim to opposite end and return to spa. No worries mate. I've also seen El Capitan up close. No freaking way I'd climb it... with ropes. And I've taken college level climbing courses.
Speaking of climbing El Capitan, you can virtually climb it on Google street view. Alex Honnold and a couple other climbers were part of the Google climb.
a virtual google climb? isn't that akin to jerking off to cartoon porn?... ^not me, i'm asking for a friend
Re watched the mind blowing Westworld again, and Thandie Newton's tits are still a joy to behold. Still. Nothing better than a beautiful, thin, bi-racial chick with oversized boobs. And a damn good actress. Thank you.
seriously wtf is up w that? i understand it takes a lot to put a show together but 2 fucking years between seasons is a bit steep
yeah its fucken annoying especially since they knew it was going to be successful haven't seen my friend who worked on the first season to ask wtf up but certainly will when i see him even worse, they're saying there still may be a season 3 of true detective (last seen in 2015) hbo dragging their feet; probably don't have enough competent people to handle shit edit: so just talked to my friend... he says it takes 12-18 months to produce a season of westworld, game of thrones, etc wasn't always that way but the level of sophistication is really high that said, he added that they could/should have been working on it while the first season was airing but likely didn't know what direction to take the series until after the audience feedback
