If the NFL can have the lingerie bowl, then I'm all for the MLB having a full contact female lingerie softball game.
Given his Fresno St roots, I hope not. He comes across really well. Humble and not a poser or a bat flipper. Just a player and damn good one (so far).
yeah i'm not hoping for him to be on the juice believe me i can't be the only one who knows that pasty sweaty look from guys who do it at the gym if you have ever lifted you see it daily and its pretty unmistakable maybe he's just like that naturally to me its kind of obvious but then again maybe those guys in the gym weren't doing it either who knows?
Not to be the party pooper, but isn't Judge 25 years old? So he's been in the minors since leaving Fresno State, gets called up at 25, and starts setting HR records. Where was all this potential before? Plus his body is HUGE. Look, Cody made a game of it, but he's young and his body looks like a stick next to Judge. I dunno. I would not be surprised if MLB takes a good hard look at Judge as the season progresses. Maybe not this year, but look for something in the off season, potentially.
mlb is all about revenue and, after yesterday, he's their latest cash cow as long as he's putting butts in seats they'll turn a blind eye i like the kid and hope he's clean but you can't help but wonder...
yeah i hit it pretty hard for a number of years and watched those guys get fully ripped as my results were good but nowhere near as cut and defined i wanted to try it just to see what would happen and if i could handle it didn't really think too much about aggressively pursuing it but as it happened i ended up talking w a lifter at a party one night and ended up driving down to the venice beach golds the next day to pick up a 3 month supply because that was the minimum he would sell and it was like $500 or some shit they were oral and he kept trying to tell me firing the shit up was easier and less expensive but i've never stuck myself w any drugs so give me the pills i did them for like a month and they fucking worked no question but i lost the ability to act reasonably the smallest things would aggravate me and at times i found myself feeling like i was sweating on the inside and unable to speak properly i used to fuck w black beauties in my 20s and if you ever did those you know what that inability to properly assess a conversation is like you brain is frying so fast that shit is exploding all around your thought process and you struggle to control your response out of fear thats how i felt and i ended up throwing the rest of it away when i couldn't sell it and thats what i saw in judge during his interview last night at one point the lady asked him (like they all do) for like the third time how he felt and what were his thoughts on all of this he snapped at her "its the fans" and then took a second and slowed it down and said "its always about the fans thats why we do it" he was all sweaty and bugged eyed and looked like he was just trying to maintain from my perspective never had a mike put in front of me but i certainly felt that way during conversations when i was high i didn't even know what Gebbeth just said about his early career but that just makes me more suspicious can't say i blame a guy for trying w all the money at stake but really...after mcwire and sosa era are we all going to pretend again?
Agree. I am skeptical of the idea that Judge is juicing, I want to think it's legit. He's a big boy who came up as a HR guy, and I think there's little doubt the ball is juiced this season. But as long as he's passing the tests they have in place and no one internally (players etc) is complaining, then MLB isn't going to push the issue. A Yankee rookie who might hit 60 HRs? That's jerk off material for MLB execs, not a reason to speculate on steroid use.
All due respect man you are off the rails on this one, there's no way they are turning a blind eye to users. Polanco and Gordon were pinched and they're arguably 2 of their most exciting players on their respective teams. Eric Thames who is built like a tank says he gets tested so much that it prompted him to say that he has plenty of blood and urine. Could he be getting away with something yeah anything is possible but MLB wouldn't condone this shit a 2nd time. If he's using he's beating the system not because they are letting him.
actually it is you who's "off the rails" think mlb didn't know mcgwire and sosa were juicing? they let it ride because it brought fans back they had lost to the strike polanco, gordon and thames? are you serious? they might be nice players, but they're not stars -- at least not to the average fan after yesterday, every baseball fan in america knows who aaron judge is no way you can say the same for the three you brought up they'll test judge eventually but no way they're going to cut off their nose to spite their face at this point while there's tons of money to still be made
I think that can happen with a lot of drugs. It happens with weed too, rarely, but sometimes. Maybe bad weed. I know a guy who uses HGH and he says it is knocking years off his body. Dude is pushing 60's and in the 10 years I have known him he has never looked remotely this buff, trim, and healthy. But I dont know if knocking those years off your looks will also knock some years off your lifespan.
Did you read my post I wrote they wouldn't condone this shit a 2nd time. The record is clear they test these players before they get to the majors and in the majors or they wouldn't be catching guys. Absolutely guys are getting away with it BUT they are getting away with it because of better masking agents and not because they are LETTING guys like Judge get away with it. Bellinger is a star now, Stanton is a star so all the stars are using I guess. HR's are up because undetected PED's are rampant? Polanco and Gordon are obviously not stars but they are important to their markets. Not to the level of NY or LA of course. I don't claim to be an expert on the PED testing policy nuts and bolt but I'm sure he's already been tested, just like Thames was after his hot start and obviously the guys who have been caught but for actual dates he was tested I have NO clue. It all comes down speculation so neither of us can be right or wrong until something is revealed so we can agree to disagree.
Cody was clutch in the first round and that was enough for me. The way he came back and beat Blackmon late personified the whole team this year. Great representation of the BLUE!
Again to be clear I wrote that it's possible that the players are getting away with it. Never wrote that the league's testing isn't flawed. I just don't subscribe to the conspiracy theory that they are letting this happen for a 2nd time because it could be a death knell.
you're being naive money is mlb's top priority always has been, always will be everything else is a distant second the only reason there's any testing at all is because congress stepped in mlb does it to placate them and give the apparency of due diligence but it's all smoke and mirrors
Who really cares about why it's here I'm glad it's here. Improve it of course. Money does talk and bullshit walks but to pull off a Judge conspiracy theory you would need everyone to be on board including the other owners who want to win and make money above all else. Whenever a phenom like Judge appears the scrutiny is heightened and people want to make names for themselves to catch the MLB. The league has 600 players and to risk this for 1 player who hasn't even completed a full season isn't logical at least to me.
I definitely think MLB doesn't want to get caught condoning steroids at this point, they know how bad that would be for the sport. I agree with that. I'm sure Judge has been tested the same as everyone else, I don't think he's getting any special treatment. And if he is using steroids then he is doing something that can't be caught by the current testing. If that's the case, I don't see MLB going out of their way to turn it into a witch hunt. A big part of this is the juiced ball. Unless everyone across the board (except Adrian) is now on steroids, then something is definitely up with the ball. Which is fine, but it might lead to more steroid speculation even if it's not there.
Exactly the reason they CAN'T risk this for 1 lone player. I'm 55 so I went through that time you mentioned and was pissed would have been even more obviously if the Dodgers were in it lol. Been a Dodger fan since 1974.
One of my theories and I'm not alone: Pitch comes into the hitter at 95 - 100 most nights, players bigger and can hit those pitches at those speeds, balls go further. Other theories abound but that would take a long drawn out discussion lol.
Interesting... I just looked up the data http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB/bat.shtml HR's are on a steady increase since 2014, and actually there were bigger jumps in 2015 and 2016 than this year. BB's also on a steady increase, SO's also on a steady increase. Saber metrics has become bigger and bigger in the game, and they value HR's and OBP for hitters, and value SO's for pitchers. So it's possible the HR phenomenon can be explained by a different approach from players. Still, I saw a game where Corey Seager hit a HR and 2 long flyballs, but the boxscore shows 3 HRs. I watched the replays, and man a couple of those HRs didn't look like HRs off the bat.
i remember that game i was the 11 year old punk sitting behind you i spit in your popcorn when you weren't looking... bkitch
