    As I guessed, the Pollock contract is heavily front-loaded with $45M over the first 3 years. So in the event that things don’t work out, the most he can make is 15M the final two years which is pretty easily tradeable to a team where a $12M AAV doesn’t hurt.

    Also, it’s also much more enticing for him to opt out after 3 years if he’s even just ok.

    So basically it's a 3 year / $45 million deal.

    The option years are just to bring the AAV down.

    You almost have to think Joc is gone if they have Verdugo penciled in RF, that would make Bellinger the primary LF and leave Joc with very few PAs.

    I can very easily see making 350-400 PAs for Taylor & Kiké even if they had a semi-full time 2B, because they can each play 3-6 positions.

    guess it depends on how many games they plan to play pollock
    pretty crazy reverse splits last season but overall pretty balanced
    joc is, well, joc

    agree on taylor/kike and hopeful taylor returns to 2017 form with his hitting guru now in dodger blue

    Reports: Dodgers close in on deal for catcher Realmuto
    Reuters — 4 hours ago

    Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto could be headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a long-discussed trade sparked when the All-Star requested a pass out of Miami. MLB.com and Fox Sports reported a trade between the Marlins and Dodgers for Realmuto was growing closer on Friday.

    Agent Jeff Berry said in November that Realmuto would be moved, and discussions were reportedly held with multiple teams, including the Altanta Braves and New York Mets.

    Jon Heyman of Fancred reported top catching prospect Keibert Ruiz was expected to be part of the return for Realmuto.

    Realmuto hit .277 with 21 home runs last season as the Marlins shifted into rebuild mode under new ownership. Christian Yelich was dealt to the Milwaukee Brewers and outfielder Marcell Ozuna was shipped to the Cardinals prior to the start of the 2018 season.

    I think it’s like an auto written article or something close. Not reporting anything, repeating what was said yesterday by Nightengale and Heyman, but saying things are more substantive than they really are.

    You should see what the representatives of our owners are saying at Davos right now when being questioned about Ocasio Cortez coming legislation that calls for every dollar over 10M be taxed at 70%.
    Every billionaire laughed at her. Gates called her ideas communism. Dell said some choice things too.
    But our Guggs guys had some prime beef for her too.
    They won't be laughing if she rides this wave of latino barbie she has going for her all the way to a leadership position. She already playing ball with Pelosi who she railed against in the past.
    She is our Hispanic Sarah Palin and would be the best democratic nominee if Bernie decides to be her running mate.
    And if that happens then Guggs and those other billionaires will move their money elsewhere while financing the next civil war.
    Except the next civil war might be worldwide.

    Spectrum SportsNet LA and Dodgers PR Director Joe Jereck announced on Friday that 1988 NLCS and World Series MVP Orel Hershiser will reduce his regular season broadcasting schedule from 81 games to roughly 50 games in 2019. Joining Joe Davis in the booth for the remaining 30 games will be former Atlanta Braves relief pitcher John Rocker. "Joining a broadcast team with decorated talent such as Charlie Steiner and Joe Davis is a thrill, honestly", said Rocker when interviewed on the Dodgers' radio network . "I just wish they'd boot that gardener Jarin".

    Jerry Hairston, Nomar Garciaparra, Alana Rizzo, John Hartung, and Ned Colletti are all said to be returning in their studio roles. The entire SNLA team will host a special 3-hour broadcast from FanFest this Saturday, January 26th, beginning at 10:00 AM PT.
