beginning to wonder if it might be better to trade this fool sooner rather than later yeah, yeah, his numbers... yeah, yeah, we'll be selling low because he was injured got it don't care this guy is a ticking time bomb Puig involved in altercation; struck in face by Matthew Moreno | True Blue LA — minutes ago Coming off a disappointing season in which hamstring injuries limited Yasiel Puig to a career-low 79 games, Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman called the right fielder a “wild card” for the 2016 season. Friedman added he wants Puig to focus this offseason on shedding weight, which the Dodgers executive believes will be of benefit as it pertains to avoiding hamstring trouble. The 24-year-old Puig was recently at the center of headlines when Andy Van Slyke, father of Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke, implied Clayton Kershaw suggested to the front office that Puig be traded. Puig has been linked to trade rumors on multiple occasions over the last two years, and Dodgers ownership is said to be more open to moving him now than in previous instances. Adding to an offseason filled with speculation, Puig reportedly was involved in an altercation with security that resulted with him being struck on the face, according to ESPN’s Renato Bermudez: Renato Bermudez/ESPN ✓@RenatoBermudez #MLB @YasielPuig formó una pelea con los seguridad del Club "Blue Martini" en Miami. El cubano salió con un golpe en el rostro 5:27 AM — 26 Nov 2015 The Dodgers and Major League Baseball have not commented on the report. Puig hit .255/.322/.436 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs, a .328 wOBA and 111 wRC+ last season, all of which are career-worst marks. He’ll turn 25 years old on Dec. 7 and is under team control through the next four seasons. Some believe Puig will be made available for trade this winter in exchange for a young starting pitcher.
Agree. Done with this asshole. Their will be takers for a guy of his talent with only $24M guaranteed on his deal.
lol at that music. Puig So much hope for this guy because he's very talented, but enough is enough after awhile and we can't keep sitting around waiting for him to get it together.
REPORT: Yasiel Puig starts fight at Miami nightclub by Craig Calcaterra | NBC Hardball Talk — 47 minutes ago When last we posted about Yasiel Puig it was to pass along a rumor that the best player on his team wants him off of it. If that was true — and if this report is true — then expect that sentiment to remain unchanged: Vincent Samperio @VinceSamperio Yasiel Puig started a fight with security at a club in Miami. He left with a bump/bruise on his face. https://twitter.com/renatobermudez... 10:41 AM - 27 Nov 2015 Obviously this report is vague and there has not been, say, a police report or other details to fill it in. Perhaps we’ll learn more, perhaps Puig was misbehaving perhaps he wasn’t. As we wait for details, however, it’s probably worth reminding ourselves that Puig is coming off of a lost season in which he couldn’t stay healthy, so trading him for any sort of decent return at the moment isn’t super likely. Which leads us to some often overlooked but undeniable baseball wisdom: you can be a distraction if you’re effective and you can be ineffective if you’re a good guy. You really can’t be an ineffective distraction, however, and expect to hang around very long.
from dodger blue yesterday... Many suspect Yasiel Puig could become available, but only if someone offers a top young starter, something that isn’t likely to happen considering his abysmal, injury-wracked 2015 season. after today's news, that asking price just went down like rube said, way to make yourself even less tradeable idiot
I was wondering when this would happen. Thought it would occur earlier. Can't believe Okafor beat him to the punch (pun intended). I know.....racist.
MatLatos ✓ @MatLatos @ClaytonKersh22 Yeah, but when I tried to warn people I got labeled as the bad guy and released. Fucken racist hypocrites! 1:36 PM — 27 Nov 2015
