Whichever days I don't work august 3-6 when OKC comes to Vegas I intend to go, I usually get Wednesday & Thursday off, so i'll be able to go that day.
Thought about doing the same before Buehler was promoted but now I'll have to see if I can swing the trip.
OKC didn't play in Fresno this year. Only played them one series at OKC. Don't remember this type of scheduling in the past.
One of the BA guys today said that Buehler is the top pitching prospect in the game right now. Not going to look for the tweet as it was during my travels between home depot and Costco and now I need a nap.
Calhoun extends hitting streak with 20th Home Run by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 5 hours ago Los Angeles Dodgers second base prospect Willie Calhoun continues to slug his way to an impressive season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, hitting his team-leading 20th home run on Monday night. Calhoun’s two-run shot that hit off the upper deck at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark gave Oklahoma City a 3-0 lead over the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) in the third inning. The Redbirds mounted a comeback, however, and came away with a 5-3 win. The home run was Calhoun’s lone hit on the night, though he also drew a walk. Calhoun enters play Tuesday night with a season-best 11-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old is batting .310/.360/.590 with 23 doubles, five triples, the aforementioned 20 homers, and 61 RBI in 87 games. This season is his first exclusively playing with Oklahoma City. In addition to home runs, Calhoun leads the affiliate in doubles, triples, RBI and total bases (192); he’s second in total hits (103). Calhoun was among the four Oklahoma City players named to the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game, and he rose from a preseason ranking of No. 86 to 74 in the Baseball America midseason top 100 prospects. The Dodgers selected Calhoun in the fourth round of the 2015 Draft. He spent last season with Double-A Tulsa, though joined Oklahoma City for the Pacific Coast League championship.
The FO should package Calhoun, Alvarez and Sborz to get Sonny Gray. With his defensive deficiency Willie should be a DH. I get it that it's tough to mess with the roster right now with the way we are playing but imagine, Kershaw, Gray, Wood and Hill for the playoffs? Add a guy like Justin Wilson to go with the pen that we have I think we would be the most complete team out there.
It's going to take alot to get a guy like Gray who is under control for a couple more years. I've seen Alvarez and he's at least 3 years away. Calhoun has been great so strike while the iron is hot and Sborz is a righty who we have a plethora of replacements for and it's not like we're trading in the NL. A's won't be challenging ANYTIME soon.
Mitch White is back us with the Quakes. Broke a toe that cost him a huge chunk of the season. I wonder if this will make him AFL bound.
