If you factor in money, I think it's easy to say we "lost" this trade (so far). If you don't factor in money, the trade looks pretty much like a wash. The fact that Dee and Haren have to keep performing at their max potential for this trade to even be scrutinized, yeah I'm ok with that.
I heard a ridiculous stat on the game coverage last night that the Dodgers haven't stolen a base for something like 30 days or something...we def miss dees speed. When the fuck will puig learn to use his speed and get proper jumps...and why aren't we sending Joc more.. He needs more than 10 chances to get this part of his game down. Especially with his walk rate and being in the lead off spot..
Clearly it was. Sorry I'll restate.. per your earlier reply grousing, correctly, about them getting thrown out on base more often, the obvious observation is that the guy doing all the stealing was traded so we'd all expect our steals stats for this year would be worse. Thus while we're worse at it this year, for the lack of Dee Gordon, you still don't give up on stealing as a tool to produce runs You just have to allow that we're not going to be quite as good. Or maybe nowhere near as good. Still it isn't Agon getting caught and the others 'should' be able to steal a base once in a while.
Young Dee gets caught stealing more than anyone in baseball. That also has to do with him trying to steal the most, but his success rate isn't very impressive.
All true.. and Dee's Dodgers stole 81 bases whereas this years Dodgers stole 15 in the same period of time ...
Last year, out of the lead off spot Dee scored 92 runs and stole 64 bases. Joc is projected to score 85 runs and has 2 stolen bases.

well no one expected the .433 to last and with his speed .274 is still fine but it's somewhat nice to see that he leveled out finally
