So Urias finished the season with a total of 127 2/3 innings (postseason included), so that puts 160-170 within reach or about 27 or 28 starts assuming 6 innings/start.

Cespedes had a 1.081 OPS vs lefties so we won't sign him.

I don't feel innings will be the thing they watch most next season with him as much as pitch count. A couple things should start happening next season, A. he should have better confidence with his stuff, so more pounding of the zone instead of nibbling and B. umpires should be giving him a more respectable strike zone. He had too many 20+ pitch innings early in ballgames, he fixes that and suddenly he could be throwing 7+ innings a start. I know those are lofty expectations for a 20 year old, but seriously look at his numbers. The higher his count got, the more dominant he became as his 50-100 pitches are ace-like numbers. Another thing to watch is what happens with his BABIP (.365, with .300 as league average) as those numbers were always high and he seemed to get fucked hard in that category with weak contact(I believe he was near the top of the league in the weak contact department). I really wonder what a Cubs like D behind Kershaw and Urias would look like. Just in my personal opinion, if he sees a normalization in the BABIP category and he does a better job getting through the early innings, his IP numbers could be off what most expectations are.

Cespedes just has the feel for me of a guy who will get paid and not come anywhere near being worth his contract. Now that does not mean that I would be upset if the team signed him, I just worry that people are going to start to realize how to get him out very soon.

Based on that desire to play for Mexico? Blowing this shit way out of proportion. Some of the criticism is warranted be he gets scrutinized more than any player. Every incident is an oh my God moment to the media. For instance when Yasiel thinks it's a HR and it isn't hustling it's blown out of proportion, your own guy Contreras thought the hit the other day was a HR and it was a mere blip just as an example. I see plenty of players do the same thing. When Cespedes buys 5 cars and comes to work in 1 each day it's oh that is cool but when Yasiel bought one car it was blown up here. Again not excusing some of his moments but those were last year and in year's past but when he was demoted he did EVERYTHING they told him without incidence.

De Leon pretty much right there with Julio, step for step in terms of work-load progression, possibly even ahead - depends on how they take him being shut down for a few weeks this year because of the sore elbow.
Would be no real surprise, as he's older.
    Just keep graduating these kids.
Bellinger had his way in his AAA debut, those few games..pretty much got it done in the Fall League as well with a .286/.394/.500 line in 9 games.
And he can still get stronger physically.

You may not be wrong, but he's 31 years old..if teams haven't figured him out yet, they don't have a whole lot of time left.
Maybe they'll figure him out after he's retired?

It really is remarkable to me that teams still don't know how to pitch to him. The play in game with the Giants was the perfect example, go higher and higher up and out of the zone, as soon as he doesn't chase it anymore, breaking pitch down and out of the zone. It has been the book on him for two years and yet teams still do not execute that well.

    Cespedes is basically a wonder.
Just about legendary for his chain smoking, and the same in terms of being this workout warrior and special talent from the island.
But then you wonder why he hasn't gotten the crazy/monster contract yet and maybe it's because teams think he'll fold and be content w/o that carrot dangling in front of him?
And then it also seems as if wherever he goes, the lineup goes bonkers with his presence in the middle of it and that team plays in October.
    It's just weird.

They just miss and when they do, he slaughters their mistakes.
And it seems as if quite the opposite is happening as he gets more experience in MLB, that Cespedes is actually executing his plan at a higher level than the pitchers that face him.
Man had 51 walks this year, so he's also no fool and can feel where an AB is heading, feel if a pitcher is going to give him anything during these ABs.
    He's a clever MF

have either of those guys been involved in bar/club incidents?
have either been arrested for driving 100mph with their mom in the car?
have either of them been accused of dogging it, not giving 100%?
have either of them been accused of being a bad teammate?
have either of them been sent to the minors?
i could go on and on but you're not going to see/admit it

not enough wind for a kite
looks like it might even rain
and for the umpteenth time i don't hate puig
but i do hate his immaturity, lack of committment and poor judgement
it would be less of an issue if he we're still productive
but it would still be a concern
especially since he's regressed horribly the past few seasons

I remember being kinda mad when Cespedes pooh-pooh'd Puig a few years back, but he was absolutely right Lol
Cespedes is low key genius, all the weird shit he does and just produces

The training wheels need to come off De Leon. He's 24 (going to be 25 in Aug) and pitched in college.

    Much different situation than Urias.

    same here
the dodger in me stepped up when he dissed puig
but not only was he right, he's still a top player -- and will get paid (yet again) as a free agent
puig, meanwhile, has regressed into a scrub that no one wanted and had to be demoted

Makes me wonder if Cespedes would embrace an opportunity to replace Puig in RF and put some respek on that spot in the lineup

JDL's been through a shit ton tho just to get to where he is as a prospect today.
Remember, we're talking about a former fat boy here, so he's had to figure his new self out and get comfortable.
His development has been haaaaaaard work, but it was a change for the better
