Lux just hit his 4th hit of the game, a home run. Good God
Remember that weird trend a while ago where players just skipped AAA? Let's do that
We need immediate pitching help now!
Got a LH who threw 19 (gasp) pitches Sat and hasn't pitched since.
With the Dodger game in rain delay, I switched the gamecast over to OKC. It's only in the third inning. How's Lux doing, you ask? He walked in the first and hit a 3-run jack in the second. Now has 5 homers, batting .509, and OPS'ing at a mere 1.547.
He bats lead-off for that team. Know any major league team that can use a lead-off hitter?
6 weeks from now:
"...It's just one of those things where...we love Luxy. He's gonna play big for us sometime down the road. But to have CeeTee getting healthy...not wanting him to lose his job to injury...with KeyKay in the mix...we think our ballclub is gonna compete. I like where we're at"
HE HIT ANOTHER ONE
Lol Lux hit another home run to go with a couple doubles
5 weeks, 6 days from now:
"Luxy is getting it done. But...for us...you wanna see a player struggle a bit. Too much success can be a bad thing for a club. You want to see how Luxy emerges from a slump. Just have to wait and see when that will happen"
Good luck on the wedding day, brother. Hope everything goes as planned. Congrats and safe travels in Thailand.
Well, I'd give Barnsie a shot at leadoff...can't be any worse than Joc, can he?I
Having Joc at leadoff, even when he is fairly OK, is just not good bb, imo. Having him further down in the lineup could maybe help out a part of it that is a vast wasteland much of the time.
Now, he is worthless there. He should bat 10th or 11th.
There are better alternatives.
When Joc was putting up .260/.370/.600 I was all for him leading off.
But when he is in one of his GrandMAL slumps (auto-out for 3 weeks+), he needs to be down in the order.
looks like Keibert Ruiz is getting called up to Triple A
I feel a trade coming soon with Keibert as a piece based solely on the call-up. Or maybe just a real intense NEED for a trade for a reliever.
having both Will and Keibert in Triple A would be very weird as they both need every day at bats, so the simplest reason is that Smith is on his way up. But otherwise, yes, a trade or maybe having one of Will/Keibert learn another position? 3B/1B?
Could be. If it is then you could also gleen that Lux is on his way up instead of Will. Less than 10 days away and I'm worried that we won't make a significant trade. I know when the FO is quiet something usually happens but I'm getting more gray hairs worrying and that I DON'T need.
I doubt we see Lux until mid-august at the earliest. They're going to want to get him 200 at bats or so. Although I'd love to see it
Smith has already played multiple positions in the minors.
