I believe that is not true. There are some things they have that you just simply can't take. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but that's what I believe is true. And I agree, anything that makes you super good or wtv to make money okay fine, but what is the line on that? I think anything that should help you in surgery should be allowed, but it's not, only certain things are. And some things that make you a better player ARE allowed. So idk
I'm on the opposite side of the fence as far as Braun goes. He keeps the award. He cheated but MLB didn't catch him, so it stands. In the case of that MVP award it's fairly safe to assume Kemp would have won if Braun wasn't considered a worthy candidate - but in closer races you can never be sure how all the other votes would have gone, you can't re-vote because the moment is lost, it's too complicated, and who cares about a 2-year old MVP award?
And the fact that MLB has to deal with some shady ass fucker to find out who is taking what they don't want speaks to how well there current program of simply catching these guys is. If it truly is right to ban these guys for this shit, we're going to have to do deals like this with huge scandals every time to catch them? Seems insane.
You had your way through 1990 to 2010...and it sucked and we got to watch some of the most ridiculous things occur like leadoff hitters slam 40+ HRs. Time to embrace a better brand of baseball.
Honest q: If you found out that baseballs were altered to create more home runs (like they did in Japan) would your stance on this change or no?
Well unstick yourself. It's showing that a majority of players finally want a clean PED free game. I believe that is there right and it should be the case. As a guy that never used drugs, I can appreciate that mentality.
Well, I'd be pissed at whomever changed the balls and that is was allowed. Shit, I'd be beyond pissed. Problem is that doesn't appear to be the case, but the proof I do see is that players used steriods and HGH like crazy...that I do know. The numbers were stupid, the game was stupid(although I realize lots of people thought it was improved).
I think this sucks for baseball.... In the sense that it just shows that there is a lot of shit we cant trust or believe in this game. Its a black eye...i think if there is unequivocal evidence against him the league did the right thing suspending him. The reason it was 65 games is that is the remaining number of Brewers games left...he will also be suspended for any postseason games if they make it. That number was reached in an agreement made between both parties after Braun realized he was cluster fucked. This let him avoid suspensions next season. But at the end of the day it shows us that who knows what the fuck is going on. The league is doing and admirable job cleaning up the game...they are taking measures to try and clean it up...the problem is the players, agents etc are going to continue to look for an edge...which may mean pumping more money into these labs to produce the next big undetectable drug to make you faster, strong, bigger etc etc.
Who was it that called me put for suggesting maybe Kemp was juicing just last week? MLB didn't catch this guy or others in all of their mystical drug testing policies. So it shows that guys actively are still using drugs circumventing all known detections. Just like Bonds.
I dont understand what precedent you talk? Admit the use of steroids and work a deal? Aint that one of the bases of the criminal system, where a guys raises his hand claiming guilt and work out a deal in exchange of some info? Whoever thinks they only had "a list" has no idea how all this works. They probably had enough evidence (receipts, checks, calls, etc) to prove him all 3 strikes and get him out for life. Do you really think a guy that went above and beyond to prove a test was wrong will just lay down on a list???? This was probably the only option he had, or face a lifetime ban... This steroids thing will keep going as long as players keep using it... If tomorrow they suspend Hanley, Kemp or Puig it will suck, but the game will be cleaner which is important for us who have kids who might look up to those athletes...
@dylanohernandez: Skip Schumaker: "I have an autographed Braun jersey in my baseball room that I’ll be taking down." Doesn't want son to link him to Braun. @dylanohernandez: Schumaker said Braun should be banned for life.
Dylan Hernandez @dylanohernandez17m More from Skip Schumaker on Ryan Braun: "I think he should hand over that MVP to Matt Kemp."
That would score Braun a million points in my book. That would show some real regret and remorse IMO. He's still stealing money from the Brewers though. A team that tries to win and can ill afford to pay a guy like Braun if he's going to be a mediocre player when he returns. Maybe he won't...but, well we'll see.
If he comes back as a mediocre player, the Brewers are going to be crippled for years. They can't afford the huge payrolls and no one will take Braun off their hands with that contract
Teams need to start adding PED clauses to their contracts. If you get busted for PED, the contract gets cancelled.
