I liked Joe Davis' idea of letting Kersh and Buehler go 1 and 2 and save Ryu for Dodger Stadium where he dominates.

There are certain words that David Ortiz should not be able to say on air.
" Horse " is one of them. The man just called Kershaw the big whore of the rotation
You should've seen Arod's eyes light up

The chop is legit horrible. Fiance walked into the room last night while I was watching and says unprompted, "umm, do they know how racist that is?" Thing needs to die.

Game 1 will be huge. If we can crush the Brewers starter and get into that bullpen early, even if the bullpen dominates, we can win later games because of it. We've seen first hand what happens when you have to use the bullpen over and over and over. Even if the bullpen is elite, they'll eventually tire out

I remember when I felt like a kid at Christmas when the Dodgers made the NLCS. Now it just doesn't feel that special. Great accomplishment, but all these late postseason runs without a WS title to show for it have caused these accomplishments to not feel that special and that really sucks.

Still, I am proud of the guys so far. It's not easy to get over the hangover of a devastating WS loss like we experienced and just a couple weeks ago, we didn't even know if we'd be in the playoffs.

The NLDS is basically meaningful September ball to me at this point. This is all legwork for the opportunity to meet Boston and do something really special. Beating the Brewers wouldn't really matter that much to me either. Red Sox would be a life highlight.

theres half of me that thinks that and the other half that thinks "Nah, he's due to calm down soon, he hasn't faced pitching like we have. Let's put him into a slump"

Winning that game 163 was huge. Gave us rest, HFA, a set rotation, and the weakest possible opponent for the NLDS.

He definitely had some AB's in that Rockies series where he looked human, but even before he became superman this season, Yelich has fucking OWNED our pitchers
    Starters:
    Kershaw: 9-17, 2 HR's, 5 K's, 1 BB
    Ryu: 2-7, HR, 2B
    Buehler: 2-3, 1K
    Hill: 3-10, 3 2B, 3K

    Relievers:
    Wood: 13-32, 3B, BB, 4 K's
    Maeda: 4-9, 2B, K
    Jansen: 3-5, 2B, 3B

Chargois is the only guy on the team that has faced him more than 2 times and hasn't allowed him on base once(0-3). Basically if there is a runner on 2B, they may need to let Braun beat them(and he is coming off a good series).

I get the nature of her job is to do these sort of things, but Alanna has pushed multiple times that fans are irrational for having more expectations of Manny. Like... come on. He's had some big hits for us (SF, Colorado, twice this series) but he's also been given a million opportunities for these big hits. When you fail way, way more than succeed, of course fans are gonna be mad

After last year, anything other than winning a WS will be a disappointment. KC came back from a loss and then won the whole thing. I would hope the Dodgers show that kind of fortitude.

So I was thinking about this as I remember the Brewers announcers talking about Grandal as being a big pest in their stadium.

16-54, 2 2B, 4 HR, 6 BB and 18 K's lifetime in Miller Park. Not bad and obviously against different guys, but he also seems to make some loud outs in that ballpark. He is probably still broken, but maybe there is some hope.

Fail way more than succeed? Is that what an .825 OPS and great defense means now? Machado, for his career, is an .822 OPS guy..he's doing .825 with LAD. Obviously, there are fans who want more from him for this reason and that reason, one of them probably frustration due to this ballclub failing to win it all or whatever and they want him to hit like Manny Ramirez's juicing ass during his memorable stint.

But let's still frame this the correct way..he's been productive, has hit 15 of his 39 HRs this season for LAD and pretty much been on par with the rest of his career. Certainly not to say that there haven't been disappointing results at times, nor do fans need to recalibrate the way they feel about Machado, fans are gonna be fans, but the facts we must hold onto and the production is there whether fans want to acknowledge it or not. Shit, whether the FO wants to acknowledge it or not..because there was this thought that Machado needed a big postseason to stick with LAD and I'm thinking, shit, he can score a big contract elsewhere. Because he's definitely one of the 10-12 best talents in MLB and in his prime.

If I was from Atlanta and a Braves fan I would be chopping and chanting for rain.
    Braves are not a race.
And if it was a race then simply appropriating a cultural standard into your culture would not be racist. Racist denotes hate. What Braves fans do is at worst an homage.
    Culture is not intellectual property.
You can remix that shit all you like.
The day you stop your culture dies.

I know my last post... I was kind of a dick.
I know lots of you feel the Braves and Chiefs and other native American team names mascots and fan chants are insensitive at best and racist at worst.
    I don't want to be a dick.
I'm becoming old with old white man opinions but I can't help it!
Y'all kids are getting way too soft.
And I'm the Pillsbury dough boy of my generation.
I'm Matt Kemp and I think y'all soft.
Damnit I'm being a dick again.
