It's odd, I think...when I look at Joc's troubles, I don't see pitchers going at him any special way, i.e. how they went after Kemp away with sliders...he just made himself capable of missing any pitch, anywhere with his swing as the culprit. He makes out from simply not making contact. But when I first saw Corey, I thought he had an approach that no particular area pitch would render him ineffective. He seems to just not be making contact like he did, although the famous sample size is pretty small. But I'm not picking up any specific way they're pitching him, are you?
I'll give him the HR pitch, but he got away with one to Batista and was lucky the one to Encarnacion stayed in the park. That said, Blanton is among the least of the problems in the pen. He's been pretty dependable so far.
Yeah,he just dug it out and got really good contact. But there was the two batters that were on base, and he was less than stellar with those guys. I kinda thought that Maeda and Grandal were having some problems there, in the sixth, with what pitch was being called for. It could have been a few reasons why, but the eventual result was a HR. I certainly can't read Japanese speaking lips, but Kenta was muttering to himself after it, and that is universal in meaning, imo.
Yeah Corey hopefully adjusts soon or something. He's not making great contact, rolling over a bit, and I'm not sure what his at bat to at bat plan is at the moment. He gets a long leash of course not cause he's a shiny prospect but because he doesn't have to hit great to be a valuable shortstop. But I hope he turns it around soon. Dodgers can't afford to have Seager, Adrian, Turner and Puig hitting how they are. It's crazy what a difference it would make to have two of those guys on a solid streak
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/05/dodgers-considering-promoting-julio-urias.html If they do, and he works out of the pen for 2 months, assume 10 innings each month, before transitioning him to the rotation, he would have about 76 innings to work as a starter (13-15 starts) before reaching that 120 limit he is believed to have. FWIW, his next scheduled start should be the 9th.
lol. I still think he's the best leadoff option with Chase second when things are going alright. Right now there really isn't much you can put ahead of Puig cause they all suck dick. Maybe Grandal on the 1 day a week he's allowed to play.
