Baseball is successful as a regional sport. Big $ in RSN's and fanbases like to watch the teams in their geographic region But it's not a national sport anymore like the NFL or even NBA If they wanted to be a national sport again, they would need to eliminate about 6 teams, reduce the schedule, own the spring and summer months, market their stars, and put more games on broadcast television.
They drag it out wayyyyyyy too long. The recent 2nd wildcard was a big step in the wrong direction. How long before a team in the north gets in and they have to delay the finish of the Series until spring thaw? I've long advocated going back to the two team playoff. Each league has two divisions of 7 or 8. The winners meet to see who goes to the WS. Fuck a bunch of wild cards. I don't want a team that couldn't even win their division going to the dance, and that goes for the Dodgers too. I know this is never going to happen, but baseball (the sport) would be so much better for it.
Probably get more fun players, eliminate the stupid unwritten rules, and actually market their players like the NBA.

It's too bad the media acts like all of the fun players are terrible humans who should be ashamed for having fun.
(cont.) Bill PlunkettVerified account @billplunkettocr Dave Roberts said Trayce Thompson is dealing with tightness in his side. That's why he's not in CF vs LH tonight. Cropped up in Sunday game
Have an All Star Break? Let's come out with the B level lineup! Anyways if Trayce is hurt just fucking put him on the DL already and quit dicking around... we all know it's coming and he could use the break anyways
I wonder if the Dbags will wave the white flag and trade us Greinke for salary relief. They pay the difference of the 6th year we didn't want.
