There is a difference between recognizing the ups and downs of a long season and not getting too high or too low after wins and losses or slumps, and not playing the game with any sort of passion at all. That's what we are talking about here. He's a guy that simply doesn't care one way or the other.

Amazing how forums over the years get caught up in facial expressions and trying to interpret that into behavior and psychology. Seems curious when for most players the only time we see their facial expressions is in uniform and or in a baseball mode. What are we comparing them to? Themselves? Others? Ourselves? I really consider ironic because over the years I have had people try to interpret my facial expressions and body language and decide what decisions I would make. Yes they were usually clueless. For what ever reason Loney is not hitting well and we are into the home stretch and this isn't a decent home stretch performance for him. Facial expressions or not his numbers are not there and what had been a decent July is not a very good August.
