I must've missed something. I love to see Urias getting a start, but why was Buehler pushed back?

Losing to Scumgarner and splitting this series would ruin my week, and with how hot Walker has been, I was feeling pretty good about this game.

Thanks, much easier than actually commenting on what I said.

I hadn't heard about them wanting five prospects. I agree that is a bit absurd. But that's their starting price, and whose to say they wouldn't be willing to negotiate, especially with Friedman's relationship with Zaidi?

I don't believe our starting rotation is as strong as you think, even less so with Hill going down. Ryu and Buehler have been great, but Kershaw can't be trusted in a game of consequence, and Maeda is going to hurt as much as he helps. I'd like to see what Gonsolin and May could do, but I also understand that's unreasonable at this point in time.

If not Madbum then who? Scherzer, Syndegaard? Someone else? Starters are probably a luxury as the need to replace Kenley looms even larger.

i wouldn't be opposed to bumgarner
but not at the price they're purportedly asking

Given the notorious luck we long-suffering Dodger fans have experienced with surefire free agents and deadline pickups... with a couple of successful exceptions, don't we all know that if this team got Bumgarner, that his arm would catch fire on the third pitch he hurls in Dodger Blue, resulting in a five-run Grand Slam against us, costing us the division and the death of all of our first born... Or something properly Jewish like that?

I mean, pardon my magic thinking bullshit, but don't we just know we'd get fucked up the ass [without enjoying it] if that son of a bitch ever wears our team's uniform?

    And Jesus wept.

I went to Opening Day 2007 when that sack of monkey spunk was outpitched by Jeff Mufukin Francis. Don't remind me ...

Gnats don't have even one player in their starting lineup batting over .250, as of the start of the game.

Of course, our BP is going to fare heavily in this one, and Roberts decided that one of our best hitters against LHP had to gave a night off, so who knows what will happen in this one?

Even Rick Monday said it... Ever since his Evel Knievel moment, Scumgarner's fastball has not been as lively and curve's not been as tight.

"Kershaw can't be trusted in a game of consequence" … Doesn't matter what you or I or any other fan thinks about Kershaw's playoff track record. There is no way (short of an injury) that he's not going to be put in big games of consequence this postseason. I'm not guaranteeing he'll pitch in Game 1, but there's no world in which we obtain another starter and move Kershaw out of the playoff rotation.

Yes, Scherzer over Gnatdouche, for sure.

And lastly, for what it's worth, my take on the Gnats trading him is this: They prefer to keep him for legacy sake, but they'd give him up if another team is willing to overpay. I don't want ours to be that team.
