i hate that he's on the gnats but he's a UCLA boy and iirc a pretty solid family guy am i missing something?
a two out bunt attempt and it looked like he had never squared around before awesome way to manage a tight game
As good a slider as I've seen him throw. Nice recovery and throw by Bellinger and well done by Taylor to keep the tag on the runner.
Excruciating watching Dodger pitchers slog through that one. I give them credit for surviving and making good pitches in the RISP situations. As shaky as Victor's been, he made a great pitch to retire Crawford. I still think Bauer tries to be too cute.
Three HRs is.nothing to sneeze at, but we've gotta do better than 5 hits. A great win though...at least now with that W under our belt, we can't be worse off than were we were when we went into this mini series. I totally agree with fsudog21 about Bauer. He's got his talents, and.he's.no scrub, but they paid him super star bucks, at least ace of the staff level, and he's not. Personally, I don't care about his personal stats ultimately, save for one. That he earns the W. If he gives up record dingers doing it, I care not. Just win, baby. And he did. Let's go Ferris...have a night tonight. It would be real warming to the cockels of my heart to go into the ASG break with the unavoidable thought that " the Dodgers are healing and playing like we all expected them to... watch out".
Btw, Will Smith, besides the winning HR, played spectacularly last night saving pitch after pitch, especially from Treinen. If he doesn't pick those hard, bounced pitches, it's a totally different game...an L probably. A guy makes a great pick at a position, everyone mentions it and there's adulation abound. When a catcher does it 5 X a game, it's ho- hum. Well done.
Tbh, I just had a conversation recently about this expression...what do cockels have to do with your heart. My theory is the are like little chambered nautiluses, mimicking heart chambers. That's my theory. They say it all the time in England, especially in the East End of London. I used to eat them when I was a kid. A vendor came around selling "winkles and cockles". You got it in a paper cone, with a toothpick, sprinkled with vinegar, and picked out the meat. Haven't thought about that in 60 years. See what a W over the Giants can do for you ?
