Same team that took three of four against the Cards on the road, swept the Rox and took three of four against the Dbacks when they were a viable contender shits itself against the struggling version of the Dbacks, Reds, Marlins and Mets.

Last night was a total shitfest, but what's bothersome is watching Bellinger half ass it in CF (not backing up Joc and then the casual way he played Marte's ball late in the game). Then there's Puig, who proves he's still an idiot, launching a throw to third on the fly allowing a second runner into scoring position.

This kind of shit is inexcusable in what might have been the biggest game of the year so far.

Never going to win shit with uber streaky and stupid (or lackadaisical) players.

 

This part falls more on the FO than Dave, imo. He has tried to use the hot hand but some guys legit suck against LHP/RHP and/or are super streaky. The roster was constructed that way and when Turner, Machado, Seager and Bellinger aren't on the field or doing their job as middle of the order staples, it makes it far worse. The roster was supposed to have a strong core with platoons on the outer layer. It CAN work, but injuries, lux tax, regression and other factors can ruin the plan.

 

Mofos had Destiny within their grasp being in first place, and just let it slip through their fingers like grains of sand...they appeared like cowards, almost. I mean, it's just baseball, but wtf with the lame ass bending over?
Damn, the way we went into SD, I thought we were frosty, cocky, and ready to rock.
Nope.
And I still say the loss to SD was the harbinger of what we have now.
And not even mentioned, is the demonic presence of Billy Jean King, now a player in this fucking cruel circus we buy tickets for every relentlessly failing season after season. Just another inmate for the Dodger snakepit. A BJK curse.

Regardless of Philly lying down I’ll never forget how Colorado beat the shit out of them. Arizona wasn’t going balls to the wall by benching Goldy and Peralta in the same game in game 1, and we still couldn’t even win the series in a must win situation. Meanwhile Colorado is fucking crushing them. Kind of inspiring to watch.
