Walton on Julius Randle: “That kid averaged 10 rebounds a game as pretty much a rookie? That’s insane. This is a grown-man league.” – via Twitter Mike_Bresnahan Walton on D’Angelo: “He has very high potential. To me, he can be a perennial All-Star.” Likes how he can score from 3-pt range + the post. – via Twitter Mike_Bresnahan Walton on Nance Jr.: “You’re going to have superstars that end up on SportsCenter every night but you need guys doing the little things.” – via Twitter Mike_Bresnahan Mike Bresnahan: Walton will not run the triangle offense as the Lakers’ coach. It’s not the “most appropriate” offense for personnel they have, he said. – via Twitter Mike_Bresnahan
Can already see it now. Boston gets 1, wolves get 2, philly gets 3, and lakers get 4 which ends up going to philly.
LAL has had it's share of draft luck as of late Shouldn't even have Randle TBH, Celtics shit the bed there A few teams shit the bed there
It was sort of lucky. He was a guy with a bad foot that turned out to be pretty durable this year. Philly keeps drafting guys with bad feet/knees that never play.
Clarkson is the big win drafting lately. That's a second rounder that would be a lottery pick if that draft was done over.
Skeptical of Clarkson's defense or lack thereof because it was a tank year, usually no one's playing defense when tanking is the goal, sort of defeats the purpose
True. yet you still expect young players to show that they can make a difference.. somewhere Clarkson just decided to show us the "O" rather than the "D" that's my story and in favor of not losing Clarkson altogether I'm sticking with it
Until he improves defensively, he's a good 6th man on a contending team. And for a 2nd round choice that's a good thing.
It was nice to see that Clarkson brought some full court vision and other intangibles to the game... if he learns "D" then his value could double. "IF"
Thats why i think 6th man. Like a jamaal crawford type. If we can trade clarkson and the lottery pick for an nba stud that would get the team back in the mix. Like jimmy butler. Sign whiteside and barnes You got a hard team.
Nah man No trading of Clarkson No trading of lottery picks We have a good young core which needs but 1 or 2 key players to be able to compete at playoff levels. If we can get a massive talent in the lottery then we're even closer to working with what we have.
There's a hand full of guys (LeBron, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, maybe a couple others) that make you a contender no matter who else is on the team. I trade anyone to get a franchise type player like that.
We tried the Chris Paul route... Fuck Stern, Silver and whoever is next Durant is worth that sort of a trade. No doubts. LeBoner.. not so much in my eyes. Simply too ego maniacal and self centered... didn't we just retire that problem?
Egomaniacal and self centered works for me, I don't love LAL's championships with Kobe/Shaq/Phil any less because of who they are
This is the nba and not your friends. Let me know when you find a big market pro sports team of mega millionaire athletes that dont have ego maniacs. Spurs maybe. But they arent small market. And their coach is egomaniacal enough for the team. And pops is about the best all around basketball guru in the nba if not for the West resurgence in gs.
