Hell of a run since Booker trash talked Zu for a shitty little layup he made over him And now Booker is out of the game Lol
Uhhh..breaking news..AD just requested a trade. Has informed the Pelicans that he will not be signing his supermax contract extension Boston is not in play until the summer, by league rule literally cannot trade for AD with Kyrie on their roster We're getting AD..if the league doesn't pressure Demps into backing out
Also, there is no Stan Kasten to feed us BS about Laker fans not liking young stud AD as much as homegrown Ingram. Lol Laker fans, we like championships.
Adrian WojnarowskiVerified account@wojespn Rich Paul to ESPN on a preferred destination for Anthony Davis: "Anthony wants to be traded to a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship." Glad AD's trade request ( Rich Paul's trade request) did not involve the Lakers by name. Seems that if you request a trade to the Lakers..that you're not being traded to the Lakers
Frank IsolaVerified account@TheFrankIsola 13m13 minutes ago This Anthony Davis play is all about the Lakers but I wonder if the Knicks make a call to New Orleans offering Kristaps in a package for Davis? Because the Knicks are where you go if you want to " win consistently and compete for championships. "
Brad TurnerVerified account@BA_Turner 6m6 minutes ago Hearing from sources if Lakers want Anthony Davis, who has requested a trade, LA has to start the deal with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, No. 1 pick.
Deal would have to include KCP as well, league rules. Have to crunch some numbers, but I like Ingram a lot better if he's say the 4th wheel/versatile forward/Odom caliber guy behind 2 or 3 superstars. Buy I'm not 100% sure that they can keep Ingram and still max a 3rd star out this summer. Ingram could go in a separate deal and fetch expiring, high end role types..shooters and whatever else they need to fill out the rest of the rotation around LeBron/AD/Rondo. And then of course, if LAL sends a big package of guys to the Pels, we can pretty much ready ourselves for Carmelo filling into one of open roster spots. Lol I asked Gebbeth last week if he'd feel better about adding Melo if he were filling in after a big AD trade..got no answer. Well, here we go....
Big NBA news hijacking Super Bowl week hype. That's where the NBA is, closer in the rearview mirror than they appear if you're the NFL..especially long term. Even with the NBA game being as soft as it is these days, who knows where the NFL game will be 20 years from now with all these rules changes, health risks and cases against the NFL. And of course, basketball's popularity is worldwide and still growing, shitty franchises going for 2B+, and the offseason basically a bonanza of big news with stars on the move yearly
City of New Orleans must be so sick of LA right now Lol Lakers may actually need ref help to get this trade done though TBH Tania GanguliVerified account@taniaganguli The Pelicans are open to trading Anthony Davis to the Lakers -- but it would come at a hefty cost.
Take everything you want Pelicans. PG: Kyrie, Rondo SG: Hart, Lance SF: LeBron, Beasley PF: AD, Melo C : Chandler, Javale That second team would be fun as hell to watch.
Tania GanguliVerified account@taniaganguli In recent weeks, the Lakers have been adamant internally that they won't trade Lonzo Ball. It's unclear if that has changed now that Anthony Davis is potentially on the table.
I still think Ball can be an allstar they just need to stop playing Rondo in front of him. In the last 13 games (while Rondo was hurt) ball posted 12pts/game, 7apg, 6rb, 425FG%, and 373 3pt %. MGT needs to stop impeding his development by starting Rondo. That aside, I think a package of KPC, Ingram, Hart, and as much as I don't like it, Zubac. Add a 1st round pick, and I think that gets the job done. Here is the odd part, who plays where? Davis is the PF, but so is Bron. So which one slides over to Center? Davis has played center and is bigger but is less effective there because he mostly plays PF. I'm guessing if he is traded to the Lakers he is the C and Bron is the PF, unless they use Davis as the PF and Bron as the SF. But that keeps Kuzma out of the starting rotation. So here is my guess: C - Davis/Mc Gee/Wagner PF - Kuzma/Chandler/Williams SF - Bron/Beasley SG - Rondo/Stevenson/Caruso PG - Ball/Mykhailiuk/Bonga It leaves the bench very thin, especially when guys like Caruso/Bonga/Williams/Wagner get time, so I would bet a trade for a vet that adds salary for just this year might be needed.
Pelicans owner Gayle Benson: " We’re going to invest more money and get the big players and do everything we can to keep Anthony (Davis) here... I really like Anthony, but if he wants to leave, you can’t hold him back. " Quote from a couple weeks ago.
